About the job

Educator for the nursery at Børnehuset Nøddehøj

Do you want to help develop strong learning environments for the youngest children?

Are you professionally passionate about working with nursery children in an environment where language, nature, curiosity and development go hand in hand? And where a strong parent collaboration is as important as muddy rubber boots, shared experiences and laughter at child level?

Then it might be you we are looking for for our nursery at Børnehuset Nøddehøj.

We are seeking an educator with a start date of 1 November 2026. With us you will have the opportunity to become part of a children’s house in development, where we together work purposefully to create high pedagogical quality and strong learning environments for all children.

Welcome to Børnehuset Nøddehøj

Nøddehøj is a municipal day care facility in Årslev and part of Children’s Area North.

We are located in green surroundings just a few kilometres from Odense. Nøddehøj is a lively children’s house characterized by presence, community and learning. Here are 20 nursery children and 45 kindergarten children who together create a diverse and inspiring child environment.

Within walking distance we have a library, hall, schools, trail systems and beautiful nature with forest, fields, bog and a stream. It gives us many opportunities to create sensorial, curious and educational experiences together with the children.

Everyday life with us is created through play

Our pedagogical work takes its starting point in the Strengthened Pedagogical Learning Plan, where play is the natural focal point.

We consciously work with both child- and adult-initiated activities in inspiring learning environments, where language, sensorimotor development, relationships, aesthetics and imagination have room to unfold.

At Nøddehøj we are focused on developing pedagogical quality through reflection, dialogue and shared learning. We work to create a culture where all staff contribute with perspectives and ideas, and where professional development is a natural part of everyday life.

We therefore seek a pedagogue who would like to be an active part of our ongoing development journey and who sees value in developing practice together with colleagues.

What characterizes us

With us we are focused on developing pedagogical quality in community. We believe the best solutions are created through dialogue, reflection and shared responsibility for the core task. Therefore we do not expect you to come with all the answers. Instead we hope you are curious, contribute with your perspectives and want to develop practice together with us.

We want to be known for high professionalism, strong relationships and inclusive communities for both children, staff and parents.

Decency, respect and clear communication are fundamental values in our collaboration. We believe we succeed best when we are curious about each other, take shared responsibility and actively contribute to the community.

We particularly emphasize

  • presence, safety and strong relationships
  • acknowledgement and respect for differences
  • decency and open and clear communication
  • inclusive learning environments with room for creativity, play, learning and spontaneity
  • a close and trusting parent collaboration
  • diversity as a strength in the community

We dream of a colleague who

  • sees the world at child height and meets the children with warmth, curiosity and presence
  • takes pride in their pedagogical profession and wants to make a difference for the youngest children
  • dare to follow the children's initiatives and at the same time create clear and safe frames
  • can work independently and take responsibility for pedagogical decisions
  • wants to collaborate closely with colleagues, parents and cross-disciplinary partners
  • is familiar with documentation and reflection on own practice
  • contributes positively to the community and the development of our learning environments
  • Contributes to working based on Nøddehøj being a shared house with joint responsibility

With us you get

  • a lively children’s house filled with presence, nature and community
  • engaged colleagues with high ambitions on behalf of the children
  • opportunity to influence both culture, direction and pedagogical practice
  • a workplace focusing on professional development and reflection
  • a close and respectful collaboration with the parents
  • a everyday life with room for humor, job satisfaction and diversity
  • opportunity to help shape the future Nøddehøj
