Børnehuset Galaksen is seeking two pedagogues who want to become part of our community

Børnehuset Galaksen is a ten-year-old institution with three kindergarten groups and two baby groups, with a stable and homogeneous staff group. We have a house with many inspiring oases that invite to play, learning, activities and coziness. The house's layout is created with a focus on child communities, development and presence, so all children experience being part of a safe and stimulating environment.

The house's central common room is, among other things, established with a special room for the babies, which gives them the opportunity to play, explore and develop in calm and safe surroundings, while at the same time being a part of the older children's play from a distance.

We work from an acknowledging and systems-theory mindset, where the child is in focus. We emphasize a safe and predictable everyday life for the individual child. We work structurally with pedagogical planning and have several shared activities across rooms; both baby room and kindergarten. We focus on the small child communities, where children get better opportunities to engage in relations, participation and to experience being part of the community.

Børnehuset has a large outdoor area with several divided play areas for both big and small, used year-round for play and outdoor activities. Galaksen is DGI certified, so play and movement fill a good part of everyday life.

Working hours are within the opening hours 6 – 17 (until 16 on Fridays). There will be evening meetings. The positions are, as a rule, full-time.

Your tasks will include

• To support the children's well-being, development and learning in collaboration with the rest of the room's staff and the child's parents
• To work purposefully with language development, Hjernen og Hjertet, KVAlid, ICDP, TOPI as well as feedback from pedagogical supervision
• To emphasize a good and trusting parent collaboration
• To create a structured and clear play- and learning environment for the children
• To participate in cross-room work and create a sense of wholeness in the house

Professional competencies

• that you have good knowledge of ICDP and can work from a systems-theory approach and have knowledge of Brønderslev Municipality's Child View
• that you have knowledge of Hjernen og Hjertet and Kvalid or are eager to acquire it
• that you can contribute to an active outdoor life
• that you will work loyally according to the house's values and agreements
• that you can work independently, in a structured way and take co-responsibility for pedagogy and activities
• that you have a talent for written material
• that you want to work for good parent collaboration

We have a well-established and active parent board and a support association.

From service to collaboration

The pedagogical work in recent times has been characterized by being understood and perceived as a service profession, where the day care provides service to parents. This is too complicated for the pedagogical profession. We are slowly developing tools to create a new culture, where the pedagogical work is a collaboration between parents and day care, instead of service.
