About the job

Educational leader for lower secondary (7th – 9th grade)

Morten Børup Skolen – Skanderborg

Would you like to help set the direction for the lower secondary at Morten Børup Skolen, where relationships, presence and pedagogical hospitality are the core of daily life?

We are looking for an academically strong, warm and visible educational leader who is passionate about the lower secondary area, and who will engage in a close, committed collaboration in the school's leadership team. At the same time you will be a present sparring partner for the staff in the lower secondary and will help support the continued development.

You will become a partner in the overall operation and development of the entire school, with particular focus on the well-being of the pupils and the staff in the lower secondary.

We are

  • a well-functioning school with engaged employees and parents.
  • a public school located in Skanderborg, housing pupils from 0. to 9th grade.
  • a school that works from a strong value-based approach, where safety, community and well-being form the basis for the children's academic and personal development.
  • a four-track school with about 820 pupils.

Our pedagogical and leadership foundation

For us, leadership is not a position from an office, but something that arises in the meeting with people.

The leadership community is based on the following

  • We see the individual before the task. We lead with a strong ability to relate, listen actively and dare to be present in your practice.
  • We create spaces where pupils, staff and parents feel welcome, heard and seen. We build bridges and ensure safe frameworks for all.
  • We are a confidential and close leadership team, where we spar about daily operations and school development.

We expect

  • Curiosity and desire for the lower secondary: You approach the lower secondary with curiosity, listen to the staff and build on the existing community.
  • Great enthusiasm and willingness for the young people: You have a genuine interest in the young people in 7th–9th grade and are passionate about creating a binding, motivating and safe youth environment in close collaboration with the teachers.
  • Visible and practice-oriented leadership: You are present in the corridors, get to know pupils and staff, and maintain a sense of everyday practice.
  • Active support in daily life: You are familiar with the lower secondary area and step in with support in difficult student cases, SSP collaboration and concerning school absence.
  • Involvement and transparency: You ensure a high degree of involvement in decision-making processes and safeguard safety and well-being in daily life.
  • Human capacity: You bring humor, orderliness and personal balance into the relationships.
  • Structure and overview: You work in a structured way and maintain an overview in a varied daily life.
  • Communication: You are a strong communicator who can create follow-through.

We could wish for

  • Experience from lower secondary
  • Leadership experience or clear leadership potential
  • Relevant leadership education
  • Experience with and insight into the school's special efforts with inclusive communities (DSA, resource programs, guidance, etc.)

The practical and application process

  • Visit period: You are expected to visit the school before applying. To arrange a visit, you can contact the school office at 87 94 25 42 or the principal Dan Søgaard.
  • Application deadline: November 5, 2026
  • First interview round: November 16, 2026
  • Second interview round: November 23, 2026
  • Start date: January 1, 2027
