Pedagogical Leader for Børnehuset Vanddråben

Do you want to lead a children’s house with high professional standards, strong communities and engaged staff? And are you motivated by setting a clear and strategic direction in close collaboration with children, staff, parents and multidisciplinary partners?

Børnehuset Vanddråben seeks an ambitious, engaging and collaborative pedagogical leader who can manage daily leadership and at the same time have a holistic view of the house's continued development.

You will become the leader of an integrated institution with two nursery groups and two kindergarten groups, normed to 26 nursery children and 52 kindergarten children.

Vanddråben is located in Trekroner in scenic surroundings, which provide good opportunities to involve nature and the local community in pedagogical work. Our common starting point is children's well-being, development, learning and formation, and we work purposefully to create strong, inclusive and developing communities.

Your task as pedagogical leader

As pedagogical leader you must be close to the pedagogical practice and at the same time able to work strategically with Vanddråben’s development. You must create coherence between the municipality’s and the area's shared direction, the house’s professional goals and the staff’s daily work.

You will have responsibility for

• setting a clear and ambitious professional direction and following decisions and actions through to the end
• exercising visible, present and engaging leadership close to children, staff and parents
• creating alignment through involvement, dialogue and clear communication
• supporting staff’s professional development and the ongoing development of the educational practice
• working strategically and holistically with, among other things, professional quality, organization, work environment and resources
• strengthening cross-disciplinary collaboration and creating coherence in the interventions around the children
• involving parents and the local community as active players in the children’s house daily life and development.

Vanddråben is part of Area East, which consists of seven day-care institutions, a basic group and the specialist institution Bjerget. The leadership team consists of eight pedagogical leaders and an area manager.

We prioritize shared development, strategic coordination, professional sparring and an open feedback culture. As a pedagogical leader you will therefore be both leader of your own children's house and an active part of the area’s overall leadership. We expect you to contribute in a committed and collaborative way to the shared solutions and have a view of the whole – for the benefit of the area’s children, families and staff.

In Roskilde Municipality we work from a resource-oriented view of children, where children’s differences are seen as a strength. The goal is for all children to experience themselves as a valuable part of the community and to have real opportunities to participate.

Therefore we have a clear pedagogical and leadership focus on inclusive learning environments and broad children's communities. This requires a leader who can work persistently and holistically and create strong cooperation between staff, parents, cross-disciplinary professionals and other actors around the children.

• Salary and employment are governed by the applicable collective agreement and agreement with the relevant professional organization.
• Criminal records and child protection checks as well as references are obtained before employment.
• Expected start date is 1 January 2027.
• The first interview will be held 30 October 2026, and the second interview 9 November 2026. Both interviews take place in the afternoon.
• A behavioral analysis will be conducted between the first and second interviews.
