About the job

Are you ready to think big, act clearly, and create something new?

Do you want to be close to the children and the pedagogical practice while helping to build an institution?

Then you could become Kålormen's new pedagogical leader.

Kålormen is a smaller, integrated institution on Nørrebro, which will be built around a new and clear pedagogical direction. Going forward, Kålormen will be organized in four age-integrated rooms for children aged 0-6 years.

You will have a rare opportunity to lead a significant change and leave your mark on the institution's future professional identity, organization, and collaborative work. We will not just tweak what we already do. We will create new conditions for children and staff to succeed. If we do not do what we usually do, what would be best for the children?

The direction is decided, and you will help shape the framework

The direction is set: Kålormen shall be built around four age-integrated rooms that will create more security, stability, and coherence in the children's everyday life. You do not take over a finished model. Together with the cluster leader, the pedagogical consultant, and Kålormen's competency pedagogues, you will develop the organization, the pedagogical principles, and the practices that will characterize the four rooms.

You will involve staff's professional knowledge, parents' insight into their children, and what the children show us. Your task will be to create professional movement and involvement, while the decided direction remains clear.

You will build Kålormen up

Your task will be pedagogical, structural, and cultural. You will among other things

  • build four age-integrated rooms with clear professional frameworks
  • create a strong and recognizable pedagogical profile
  • develop a professional working community
  • attract, receive, and retain talented staff
  • create clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations
  • build a strong and trusting parental collaboration
  • create a stable and sustainable daily life for children and staff.

The four rooms will be the children's fixed base with familiar children and adults. During the day, the children will participate in smaller communities based on their relationships, development, interests, and needs. As the leader, you must be curious about how the children experience everyday life, and continuously assess whether the organization provides them with more security, stability, and coherence.

You lead the change, but not alone

You will become the local leader who must tie together the threads, create meaning, and translate the joint decisions into concrete daily practice. You will work closely with

  • the cluster leader, who supports direction, mandate, and leadership sparring
  • the pedagogical consultant, who contributes with professional perspectives and process support
  • the competency pedagogues, who support the development of the pedagogical practice closely with children and staff.

The competency pedagogues are a temporary professional development resource in the change process. They are not part of the institution's normal core staffing.

We take your leadership seriously

In Nord Klynge E we believe that development happens in collaboration. You will become part of a leadership team that thinks big and dares to talk about what is difficult.

You should be willing to train and practice together with us and use practice as a training arena. You must be visible and approachable and able to move to where leadership is needed. With us you may put 'the usual' in reverse, as long as the change is professionally justified, clearly led, and can be felt positively in the children's everyday lives.

In our shared leadership understanding we work with four archetypes

  • Kindness creates an empathetic, safe, and developmental environment.
  • The apprentice meets the world with curiosity, openness, and humility.
  • The swimmer moves close to practice and seeks multiple perspectives.
  • The pilot creates overview, sets direction, and keeps the course.

You will need all four. You must create security without becoming unclear, be learning without losing direction, and get close to practice without taking over it.

What we expect from you

You are passionate about the children and their well-being, development, learning, and participation in the community. You have a strong pedagogical expertise within the 0-6-year area and a confident eye for parental collaboration. You do not need to have all the answers in advance. The most important thing is that you want to build, create direction, and stand firm in a process where not everything is fully developed. We expect that you

  • are a trained pedagogue
  • have leadership experience or a clear leadership potential
  • can create meaning and followership in a complex change
  • are clear, persistent, structured, and present
  • dare to challenge habits and the classical institutional logic
  • can make and maintain well-founded decisions
  • work systematically with pedagogical quality
  • can provide concrete professional sparring and guidance
  • can create psychological safety without lowering the professional expectations
  • are open to criticism and act on relevant proposals
  • are ambitious on both your own and the community's behalf.

Your pedagogical knowledge is based on theory, research, and professional experience. If you do not have a diploma in leadership, we expect you to be prepared to start one.

You will become part of a strong leadership community

You will join a leadership team with four other pedagogical leaders and a cluster leader. Together we work systematically with learning leadership, reflection, supervision, shared pedagogical methods, and clear leadership behavior. You will receive close sparring with the cluster leader, systematic individual leadership conversations, and a professional learning community with the other leaders.

Your introduction will be tailored to your experience. In your first 14 days you will intern in the cluster's other units, where you will get to know your leadership colleagues and our shared strategy, methods, and leadership understanding.

Are you ready to create something that does not yet exist?

You should not merely maintain a finished organization. You will help build Kålormen and lead to create a new practice. The task requires courage, professional depth, perseverance, and clear leadership. In return you will have the opportunity to leave a significant mark on an institution and lead a change that can have great importance for the children, staff, and families in Kålormen.

Terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local wage formation. In connection with the appointment we will obtain child and criminal background checks and take references.
