About the job
Do you want to give the youth an active daily life and be a positive role model? Then read on
Fritidscenter Indre Valby is seeking an engaged colleague who thrives in creating activities and projects with young people aged 13-18.
Fritidscenter Indre Valby consists of six leisure clubs, a JK offer as well as a UngeVærk and a UnderVærk and an outreach team. The leisure center covers an area around Valby and Vesterbro and primarily receives children and young people from the nearby schools and local area.
Fritidscenter Indre Valby is part of the leisure cluster Vesterbro/Valby/Kgs. Enghave (VVK), which covers the municipal leisure services for ages 10-18 in Valby. The cluster consists of two leisure centers – FC Indre Valby and FC Ydre Valby.
At Fritidscenter Indre Valby we work with KIDS KLUB, which is a research-based tool that we use to assess the pedagogical quality of our offerings. Through this we can develop and improve the environments that shape the framework around children and young people’s well-being, learning and development – particularly the physical surroundings, relationships as well as play and activities. We do this among other things through ongoing observation of practice over longer periods. It provides a picture of development, and at the same time we become wiser about areas we can work on further.
We are looking for an educational staff member for UngeVærket on Rubinsteinsvej. The working hours are 30 hours per week. It is expected that you can work two evenings per week on weekdays until 21:00. We also expect that you can participate in overnight stays, weekend trips and similar as well as staff days that may occur on weekends.
As our new colleague, we expect that you
- have experience with the target group of young people aged 13-18. Perhaps you are educated as a pedagogue (this is not a prerequisite) or have another professional background you can put to use
- want to give the young people an active daily life through planned activities, projects and programmes. We do not require specific competencies, but only that you bring something you are passionate about passing on to the youths
- are good at seeing what the young people are interested in and follow, motivate and support them
- can be a positive role model and lead by example through participation in activities, projects and the like
- can work with youths in groups, solve conflicts and create calm around you when the need arises
- are motivated to continue our work with educational readiness, transitions to adult life, youth involvement and democracy
- take responsibility for and actively participate in the collegial work community and also can work independently and take initiative to solve common and own tasks
- can work two weekday evenings per week until 21:00
- have reasonable competencies in relation to the use of computers and other digital media, as we work in Outlook, Sharepoint and Aula (you will receive an introduction to it all)
