About the job

Would you like to join a truly unique professional community of guidance staff? With high professionalism and curiosity, we support the school’s staff in creating well-being and development for our students. Now we have the opportunity to expand the team with another pedagogical guide.

A meaningful job

You will be part of a large guidance team consisting of pedagogical guides, didactic guides, speech therapists, psychologists, and more. Together with our other pedagogical guide, it will be your task to create space where staff can develop their professional skills.

As a pedagogical guide you will need to navigate Geelsgårdskolen’s many facets, and our 110 students have very different challenges and needs. Therefore we encourage you to watch this short film and read about us on our website.

Your role as a guide

You and our current pedagogical guide will each be responsible for two school divisions (Spor). The distribution will be determined collaboratively based on the competencies you bring – but you will also have tasks across the school.

Your task will be to support the pedagogical effort, e.g. in the form of guidance meetings, interdisciplinary meetings around the children, observations of the pupils’ daily life, and ongoing sparring.

We work from a resource-oriented approach, where we start from the students’ perspectives on the world and look into the underlying causes of behavior.

Your tasks include, among others

  • Guidance within special education, disability understanding, SVS, conflict management, low arousal and other relevant pedagogical approaches
  • Uncovering students’ behavior and relevant guidance for staff
  • Supporting the use of action plans developed on the basis of registrations
  • Contributing reflections to pedagogical initiatives at cross-disciplinary meetings
  • Giving presentations and courses for both small and larger staff groups
  • Actively contributing to our VISO team.

In order to provide the best possible guidance, it is essential that you actively bring yourself close to the students’ everyday life. This way, staff experience that there is a short path to sparring, while you enjoy following the children and their development throughout their school years.

The interdisciplinary community is our leverage

High specialization, professional curiosity, and a unique professional community are core values in the team, as we work with some of the region’s most challenged children and young people with multiple and complex functional impairments. This requires us to cast aside box thinking and combine different approaches and methods across disciplines.

You will work closely with our other pedagogical guide, but also in cross-disciplinary teams around each student and in parent collaboration. In addition there is collaboration with the department heads of the divisions you are attached to, and with management in developing projects at the school.

Your ability and willingness to collaborate is therefore absolutely essential.

We are looking for someone who …

  • is educated as a pedagogue, cand.pæd.pæd. or similar
  • has high professionality and solid practical experience within the special education field
  • wants to work with children with high complexity
  • is a competent guide who can navigate in many different guidance positions, as you will guide colleagues and others with very different competencies and levels of experience
  • is curious and listening to what colleagues need
  • is patient – development in our pupils can take a long time.

What we offer

  • great opportunity to influence your job and work with the areas you are passionate about
  • professional deepening – we have all disciplines in the house, so you can focus on your own
  • freedom with responsibility – you plan and prioritize your own tasks
  • relevant diploma modules and courses
  • a unique professional community, where all disciplines are gathered under one roof, and you never stand alone.

Does this sound like something for you?

We offer a full-time permanent position with start on December 1, 2026, or as soon as possible.

Salary and terms of employment according to the Agreement between the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions for Teachers and the Regions’ Salary and Pay Scale Board for teachers etc. for special education for children and adults, as well as the principles of New Pay. In addition to the agreement-based salary, we have local agreements.

We look forward to hearing from you
