Vesthimmerlands Kommune seeks 3 pedagogical assistant apprentices who follow the standard main program on the Pedagogical Assistant Education (PAU) with education start on 18 January 2027. As a pedagogical assistant apprentice you will be trained to be able to work in an institution within the children and youth sector.

About the education The education lasts 2 years and 2 months from 18.01.27 to 04.03.29. Here you alternate between periods of school and internship at the training site. The internship takes place in our day care facilities. It may include nurseries, kindergartens and after-school care (SFOs). The training site will be assigned to you. You must therefore be interested in working with children aged 0-10 during the course of the education.

The school periods take place at SOSU Nord, På Sporet 8 A, 9000 Aalborg, and the internship periods take place in day care/SFO in Vesthimmerland Municipality.

As a pedagogical assistant you will primarily be trained to carry out tasks under the Day Care Act, including the reinforced pedagogical curricula. The task is to create good learning environments that support the children’s learning, development, well-being and formation.

Your profile Professional qualifications

You must have passed the final exam from primary school in Danish and Mathematics with a grade of 2.

If you come straight from primary school you must have completed Grundforløb 1 and/or 2.

If you are under 25 years: You must have passed Grundforløb 2

If you are over 25 years: You must have a real competence assessment (RKV) at SOSU Nord and when your RKV is available, your education program will be planned individually.
