About the job

Do you want to make a difference for people with complex support needs and help create security, development and greater independence in daily life?

Here you get the opportunity to work purposefully with pedagogical development in a fixed team around a citizen who needs close and individualized support. Together with your colleagues you shall create a structured and predictable everyday life, where relationships, care and professional methods are the foundation for the citizen's wellbeing and development.

You will become part of a small, stable team, where you collaborate to translate pedagogical strategies into practice. The work requires presence, patience and the ability to stay calm – even when situations become complex or do not develop as expected. On the other hand you get the opportunity to follow the citizen's development closely and experience how even small steps can make a big difference.

You work 2:1 and in long shifts with long intake meetings (mixture of 24 and 14 hours). That typically means 7-9 shifts per month and gives you the opportunity to create continuity and deep dive in the pedagogical work.

You can expect

  • Supportive leadership with focus on professional sparring and daily support.
  • Team meetings every other week, where you share experiences and develop your joint pedagogical practice.
  • External supervision approximately every sixth week with opportunity to reflect on professional challenges and your own practice.
  • Opportunity to develop your professional and personal competences, including through relevant further training.
  • Contractual salary, pension and possibility for health insurance.

We expect you to have

  • A relevant pedagogical or social-professional education, e.g., as a pedagogue, pedagogical assistant, teacher, social worker, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
  • Interest in or experience with autism, Low Arousal and mentalization as well as an appreciative approach, where you meet the citizen based on their individual prerequisites.
  • Ability to create secure relationships, communicate clearly and adapt your approach to the citizen's needs. You are curious about alternative communication, e.g., sign to speech, pictograms and visual supports, and keen to learn the methods used in practice.
  • A calm and reflective approach so you can keep an overview in pressured situations, prevent conflicts and support the citizen with care and respect.
  • The ability to work in a structured way and create predictability in daily life, while being able to adapt to the citizen's needs.
  • Willingness and ability to support the citizen in daily tasks and the development of greater independence.
  • At one of the facilities personal care is included, and you must be willing to undertake these tasks and learn them if you do not have experience.
  • A high degree of integrity and responsibility. You can set professionally grounded boundaries, follow joint agreements and contribute constructively to the collaboration in the team.
  • Willingness to take on complex pedagogical tasks and motivation to work development-oriented – even when progress is small and results require time and perseverance.
  • Desire to work in a workplace where days vary, and where both pedagogical tasks, practical chores and documentation are a natural part of the job.
  • Physical stamina to participate in daily activities and walks of approximately 30-60 minutes.
  • Driver's license, category B.
