About the job

Heart-warming nursery seeks a pedagogue assistant with heart in the right place for a maternity leave position at Drageungerne.

34 hours - 37 hours. Start no later than 1.12.2026.

Ørkildborgens Børnehus is a house in full development. We have recently transitioned from being Byparkens Nursery to now an integrated institution with two baby groups and three kindergarten groups - and have moved into new and newly renovated buildings right on the edge of the forest at Rottefældeskoven, which lies scenically by Ørkildkolonien.

Now one of our good pedagogue assistants goes on maternity leave - and therefore we are seeking the perfect pedagogue assistant to fill her position.

We are looking for you if your heart burns for our nursery children.

-You enjoy working with children aged 0-3 years and are ready to, with humor and a smile, create strong relationships where the children feel seen, heard and acknowledged.

-You are naturally caring and inclusive in your approach to the children and actively contribute to the pedagogical practice in close and open collaboration with colleagues.

-You have overview and calm and naturally take the initiative to create trusting relationships with both children, parents and colleagues.

-You think in terms of solutions rather than limitations and bring good energy.

You are reliable and flexible.

-Your colleagues you see as sparring partners. With humor, playful banter and laughter, we create together a pleasant and strong nursery for both children and adults.

Who are we - and what do we value?

The nursery's practice is carried by caring and present relationships at child height and a genuine curiosity about each child. We are not bound to a single concept, but work professionally and with presence in our practice. We listen and respond to what we meet in the children; they should experience us available and at eye level.

We structure our day and create calm in smaller groups and in the activities the children call for. We create play environments based on the children's interests and needs - play and togetherness must be easily accessible, and we must be ready to see and change them as needed.

We work with a wide range of children and families with very different backgrounds and resources. Therefore it's important that we build on our professionalism and communicate professionally and openly in the parent collaboration, even when it's challenging.

Our view of children is inclusive: All children - and families - have strengths we should see and draw on.

It should be safe to go to nursery! We see our interactions and relationships with the children - and with each other - as fundamental to their well-being and development.

We are a good blend of ages and experiences among the staff. We complement each other well with our different personalities and competencies, and share the common goal: to ensure the children have a fun, learning and safe time with us. We have fun and laugh together - even when we are busy - and we nurture each other and our shared work environment. Our work environment belongs to the children – so it is a good indicator of what we need to change and do together with and for the children - and each other.

Food and meals are an important part of our pedagogical everyday life, where we create opportunities for good conversations and presence. We have the luxury of a wonderful kitchen with two staff who cook all daily meals for the whole house.

We have a newly formed leadership team, with many years of experience in day care, who work for psychological safety. We believe in the individual employee's professionalism and qualifications - and give freedom to use professionalism within our pedagogical stance.

We have a strong focus on well-being and job satisfaction, because we believe that strong relationships between colleagues positively influence the whole house. We prioritize activities that strengthen togetherness and energize daily life by focusing on combining professionalism with good breaks, walks and yoga.

Can you see yourself in our house? If you want to visit us or have detailed questions before applying, please call or write to Malene (55667544) by October 12.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards from all of us at Ørkildborgens Børnehus
