Nanny sought for an 11-year-old girl – 30 hours per month in Copenhagen S

We are looking for a present, stable and caring sitter for an 11-year-old girl with a GUA diagnosis. She is an independent, active and thoughtful girl who thrives best with structure, predictability and good preparation.

About the girl

She goes to scouts and loves baking, cooking, being creative, hanging out with girl stuff, using her iPad and playing games – both online and board games.

She also likes to go out and experience things – e.g. take a walk, go shopping or visit a cafe.

She handles many things herself and primarily needs a safe and stable adult who can be with her at home when the parents are out.

We are looking for someone who can

• Meet her with an open mind, patience and understanding.
• Be a calm and present adult substitute in the home.
• Create structure, overview and predictability.
• Take as a starting point her needs and interests on the given day.
• Enjoy doing cozy activities together with her – e.g. baking, cooking, being creative or playing games.
• Occasionally want to take her out, e.g. to a cafe, for shopping or out to shop.
• Be comfortable with there sometimes being other family members at home. She has a twin brother who is also looked after at home, and her two older brothers aged 14 and 21 can likewise be at home.

Tasks

• Be with her at home in the afternoon and evening while the parents are out.
• Plan and carry out activities based on her needs and wants on the given day.
• Help prepare dinner and eat together with her.
• Participate in her evening routine – including bedtime.
• Create calm and safety at home until the parents come home.
• If needed, be able to join her on a small outing in the local area, e.g. a cafe, shopping or groceries.

Working hours

Predominantly Wednesdays in the afternoon and evening (not necessarily every Wednesday – planned in cooperation with the family).

There will also be a need for relief on some weekends for a few hours – not fixed every weekend.

Total approx. 30 hours per month.

We are seeking a stable person who wants to be a safe adult in the girl’s everyday life, and who can create a calm and cozy framework where she can be herself and voice her many thoughts openly.

The family has a cat, so you must be able to thrive in a home with pets.
