Education for a Pedagogical Assistant in the Adult Social Sector

Now you have the opportunity to become a trained pedagogical assistant, where during your education you will primarily work with adult citizens in the social and disability field.

If you are passionate about creating quality of life – is this the education for you.

Sønderborg Municipality and SOSU Syd are jointly establishing a local PAU education. During the education you can undergo on-the-job training at a residential facility, in an activity offering and in social psychiatry – this means that the target group is adults, elderly citizens and possibly the elderly sector. Wherever you are in training, the focus is on the citizens.

You will during the education learn to

• Work closely with residents and relatives
• Be part of a cross-disciplinary work community
• Contribute to documentation and sparring
• Apply professional skills in both everyday activities and personal care

As a pedagogical assistant you are guaranteed an apprenticeship place and salary throughout the entire education.

You start the program’s introductory course in week 06-2027.

• RKV – if you are 25 years old or older
• Certificate of education for another education
• Employment certificate from a previous employer in the field

• Other relevant documentation

Admission to the education

To get started with the education you must,

• apply for admission to Grundforløb 2 at optagelse.dk and then apply for this position.
• if you are 25 years or older when you start the Grundforløb, you must undergo a Real Kompetencevurdering (RKV) . Here it is determined how long a course you need and when you can start on GF2.

You can be admitted to the program starting at Grundforløb 2 if you meet the following admission requirements

You must have passed both Danish and Mathematics to be admitted. Remember to attach documentation of your education with the highest achieved levels.

If you do not have this, you can take an admission test followed by an interview with an educational counselor.
