Payroll employee for a special assignment with back payments

Do you have experience with municipal payroll administration and a desire to work concentrated on a large and important payroll task? We are seeking a payroll officer for a fixed-term position of 1 year, who will help handle back pay for current and former employees in Kalundborg Municipality as a result of the ruling on compensation for part-time employees' overtime.

The position is for you who are familiar with municipal payroll administration, work securely and systematically with payroll data, and thrive with a task where precision, quality, and correct case handling are decisive.

About the job A professional arbitration ruling dated February 4, 2026 has determined that part-time employees who perform overtime work must be compensated at a rate corresponding to overtime pay. The ruling also has implications for previous cases, and the municipality must therefore on its own initiative reopen and reassess relevant older cases.

You will therefore have a very concrete and well-defined task , where your primary focus will be to handle the back-pay cases from start to finish.

We use KMD Opus Personal as the HR system.

Your primary tasks You will mainly be working with

• methodical review and qualification of back-pay cases
• preparation of decisions and documentation
• ensuring a consistent and correct handling of the cases
• collaboration with colleagues in Payroll and relevant partners in the organization.

About you We would like you to have experience with payroll administration from a municipality and preferably with knowledge of working in KMD Opus Personal and/or Scheduling.

We also value that you

• have experience with processing and checking payroll data
• are familiar with reading collective agreements, local agreements and working time rules
• have good IT skills and can quickly learn new systems and tools
• work in a structured and methodical manner
• can work independently with a clearly defined and delimited task

Your team You will become part of the payroll team in Kalundborg Municipality’s Finance Department

Salary and terms of employment The employment is fixed-term for 1 year .

Salary in accordance with the collective agreement between KL and HK Kommunal.

The salary is in the range of DKK 38,000 – 43,000 per month plus pension for 37 hours per week and is set based on relevant experience and competences within the framework of the collective agreement. Pension and other terms of employment follow the agreement.
