Pedagogical assistant / childcare assistant with a love of play and pedagogical physical education at M-Huset's Sports Kindergarten

Are you passionate about combining play, pedagogical sports and pedagogy in a nursery — and would you like to be part of a small, close-knit work community where we use the whole body and the whole heart in everyday life?

We work with pedagogical sports—not as an extra spice, but as the core of everything we do. We are a certified sports institution, and it means that movement and play are a big part of the children's everyday life – all day long. We believe that children learn through the body. We translate classic activities into movement activities, and we crawl, roll, climb, swing and bounce as much as we possibly can.

Pedagogical sports are embedded throughout our everyday life, both in the planned activities, the spontaneously arising games and daily routines. Pedagogical sports thus form the basis for our day-to-day life and function as our pedagogical starting point.

We work with both high and low arousal. This means that the children gain familiarity with what it means to be breathless and to have a high energy level, as well as to be relaxed and calm.

For us, sport is never about competing, but always about creating participation opportunities for all children. The staff are role models and actively and enthusiastically participate in the movement games. When we, for example, play the king’s follower on the playground, the staff crawl over the log, jump over the rope and roll around on the grass together with the children.

We expect that you can work here for a minimum of one year – preferably more.

Is it you we are looking for?

We are looking for you who get energy from playing with the children, you who think creatively in the world of play, and you who are curious about how pedagogical sports can strengthen children's communities. You do not need to have experience with pedagogical sports, as we train our own staff in collaboration with DIF and VIA University College.

You may have experience from a 0-6 year daycare or other relevant experience, but the most important for us is that you are curious about pedagogical sports and how it is applied.

We have a working community filled with professional discussions, pedagogical development and knowledge sharing, and we help each other throughout the house. We expect you to actively participate and take co-responsibility.

We ensure you have a good start, not only in the first week, but for as long as it takes until you feel properly prepared.

General information about M-huset

Our nursery is originally located at Ørestads Boulevard 57B in Ørestad City, surrounded by the city park, Amager Fælled, water and the metro. Our nursery has 36 children and nine staff in a colorful institution with rounded walls and foam modules that invite play and movement. Outside we have a wonderful sensory garden on the playground where children love to explore.

Our outreach kindergarten runs every day from Ørestad near Bella Center Metro Station, at 8:00 a.m. to our outreach house on Rosenlundsvej in Dragør. Here the children stay until late afternoon, when the bus returns to Ørestad and they are home at 15:40. The bus ride takes only 15 minutes.

During the period when we are rehousing, the outreach bus has a pickup location on Kongelundsvej 79, just two minutes from our original address in Ørestad.

In the outreach kindergarten near Dragør we have fantastic opportunities to give children a daily life full of movement and outdoor living. We are close to nature, which we can use to develop pedagogical sports outdoors.

The outreach kindergarten is located in scenic surroundings in an outreach community with several other outreach kindergartens. The kindergartens are of course separated from each other with their own rooms, common rooms and playground. In addition we have access to a large gym hall as well as a campfire area and a pizza oven as part of our shared area. We are in the process of starting our first kindergarten group, which you will actively contribute to and have influence on.

We are part of Amager Cluster I, which works with the common focus: ”Here the good child life is lived”.

Rehousing

The nursery is currently rehoused at Følfodvej 118, København S, in an older institution with a good layout, as M-Husets building is undergoing facade renovation. During rehousing, our outreach kindergarten runs from Kongelundsvej 79, København S to Rosenlundsvej 1 in Dragør. We expect the pickup of the kindergarten to return to Ørestad on 1 March 2027.

Salary and employment terms

All permanent staff in A Cluster I have the option to use Falck Healthcare. Falck Healthcare has a team of: physiotherapists, chiropractors, masseurs, acupuncturists, zone therapists - And they also offer health checks.

The position is 37 hours per week with start on December 1, 2026.

In connection with the employment we will obtain two references as well as child and criminal record checks.
