With us, children learn through their bodies, and we believe that they can, will, and must do more than we think. We are seeking a staff member who will help create everyday life filled with movement at child height.

Your key tasks

As a staff member with us you become a key person in translating our three guiding principles – bodily expression, children's natural curiosity and being/sustainability – into a present pedagogical practice. You will create frameworks where the process is always more important than the product, and where the children experience themselves as co-creators of their own institutional life.

Your primary areas of responsibility will be

• Plan and implement activities based on DGI’s principles for Natural Play
• Make the learning spaces, the local environment and nature into learning- and gathering-spaces where children's curiosity and approach to life are explored (we investigate, try, succeed, make mistakes and learn together)
• Support the children's communities and give them a basic understanding of sustainability and the world they will grow up in. Actively involve the children so they experience participation and success in everyday life
• You will be part of and actively contribute to a professional community where we share with each other and create value for one another. The immediate supervisor is present.

Your competences

We are looking for a colleague who is trained as an educational assistant or assistant with a willingness to learn.

• Experience: You have experience from previous jobs as an assistant or aide – perhaps we are lucky that you are in training or would like to be
• Brave and experimental: You dare to seize the moment, try new ideas with the children and see mistakes as a valuable source of learning
• Relationship-building and present: You see the children as the most important and meet them with recognition, support and high expectations
• Sustainable and nurturing-focused: You are passionate about giving children space to be, while guiding them to look after one another and nature
• Curious and collaborative: You actively join the staff community, where we share knowledge, support each other and rise together.

Børnehuset Hulahop is the newest childcare house in Ballerup Municipality, where daily life reflects the society and the future the children will live in. Our pedagogy is based on the child’s bodily learning, curiosity and co-creation is at the center. We work in smaller groups and teams, where there is not far from ideas to action. With us you will meet colleagues who look forward to welcoming you and helping you settle well into our everyday life.

We are currently in the process of our DGI-certification, which ends in December 2026.

Hiring process and salary

The start date is December 1, 2026, or as soon as possible.

We hold interviews as we receive applications.

The position is, as a rule, 37 hours per week and a permanent position.

Application deadline: November 14, 2026.

We offer salary and employment terms according to the collective agreement for pedagogical assistants and teaching assistants in the municipalities.

Employment is carried out according to the principles of local wage setting and in agreement with the negotiating organisation.

The salary range for the position as pedagogical assistant or pedagogical assistant is 27,766 DKK – 33,361 DKK per month excluding pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is set after negotiations between the employer and the trade union that has the right to negotiate within the relevant collective agreement area. The salary depends, among other things, on your education, demonstrated seniority and qualifications.
