About the position/workplace

November 1st or as soon as possible thereafter, we need a pedagogue for a full-time position in our comprehensive school and DUS services for children with severe pervasive learning difficulties.

Therefore we are seeking a stable, experienced and well-founded pedagogue who has enthusiasm, energy and the ability to engage in our wonderful department.

• Develop positive and close relationships with children with special needs
• Work pedagogically with children with severe multiple disabilities, including children with epilepsy and an age-appropriate functional level of 0-1½ years
• Active engagement in neuro-pedagogical continuing education programs with accompanying professional sparring
• Use sensorimotor activities as a natural part of everyday life
• Communication with alternative and augmentative communication), including sign language and the boardmaker system
• Planning, implementation and evaluation of special education pupil plans
• Work in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to an open and professional dialogue with partners, including parents
• Perform care and nursing tasks professionally.

Vester Mariendal School's center department houses 110 students spread across 4 departments, and 70 colleagues. The full-service unit includes 14 students all with severe disabilities. The student group is characterized by very diverse and complex challenges and needs. There is a need for differentiated and specially tailored teaching at individual, group, and class levels.

The daily life is characterized by creating good relationships, where the adult is the caring driving force who can be directive, guiding and instructing. This creates a safe environment in which students can develop within a clear structure.

In daily practice, we base on a resource- and relationship-oriented approach focusing on how each student is best supported and develops, and we work to set realistic goals for the student's learning, well-being and development. We work with special education pupil plans. These are evaluated several times a year with the involvement of parents.
