About the job

Are you an occupational therapist with an interest in autism, sensory-motor development, and sensory issues? Are you motivated to translate your professional knowledge into practice in close collaboration with other disciplines? Then the position as pediatric occupational therapist at Brøndagerskolen might be something for you.

About Brøndagerskolen

Brøndagerskolen is a special school for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASF) under the Danish Public School Act § 20, subsection 2. We have 99 pupils from 0th to 10th grade and about 130 staff.

We work as a holistic offering where teaching, special education and leisure are considered together. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a central part of our daily life and ensures the best development opportunities for each student.

Who are you?

We are looking for an occupational therapist who is passionate about making a difference for children and young people with autism.

You work proactively and practically . You are curious about the students' individual prerequisites and have an eye for how sensory-motor and sensory conditions affect well-being, learning and participation opportunities. You are motivated to translate your professional knowledge into concrete recommendations, interventions and solutions close to practice.

You thrive in interdisciplinary collaborations and can build good relationships with students, parents, colleagues and partners. At the same time you work in a structured and systematic way with observations, assessments, documentation and communication.

As an occupational therapist you will be part of the school’s guidance team consisting of occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists and pedagogical guides.

Experience with autism, sensory-motor development and sensory issues is an advantage, but not a requirement. We also welcome applications from occupational therapists who want to specialize in the field and develop their competencies in a strong professional environment.

Your tasks

  • Assessment and intervention within sensory-motor development, sensory processing, arousal and regulation.
  • Interventions for problematic eating and oral-motor challenges.
  • Observations and support regarding functional skills and participation.
  • Advice on ergonomics and sensory aids.
  • Participation in networks, school–home and collaboration meetings.
  • Sparring and upskilling of staff.
  • Documentation, report writing and record keeping.
  • Tutoring, presentations and development work.

We offer

  • A strong interdisciplinary and professional environment.
  • Competence development in autism and occupational therapy.
  • Discipline-specific sparring and professional networks.
  • Thorough introduction and onboarding.
  • A high degree of self-determination/autonomy.
  • Leadership close to practice.

You will have the opportunity to follow the students’ development over time and experience how your professional assessments create concrete changes in their daily lives.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours with working hours planned within the school's annual cycle. Approximately 8 evening meetings per year can be expected.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement.

Employment process

Start date: January 1, 2027
