With space for 64 children distributed in a nursery with room for 24 children from 0-3 years, spread over two rooms. Kindergarten with capacity for 40 children aged 4-6 years.

Qeqqata Municipality is seeking a skilled and dedicated employee. The Education Area aims to create curious, robust, healthy and happy children. It is expected that you as an employee and your immediate supervisor focus on achieving these goals.

Work and responsibility areas

You must be responsible for following Inatsisartut Law no. 62 of 20 November 2023 on pedagogically developmental offers for preschool children, as well as working according to guidelines that can be found on the Qeqqata Municipality website regarding the political visions, child and youth policy and pedagogical objectives of Qeqqata Municipality.

Criminal background and Child safeguarding certificate

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain criminal background and child safeguarding certificates. Under the law, employment may only begin after the municipality has received satisfactory criminal background and child safeguarding certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the person concerned, where the criminal record is obtained by the person from the Police.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between The Government of Greenland and Nunatta Perorsaasut Kattuffiat (NPK) and SIK or another relevant bargaining organization.

Start date: to be agreed.

Employment will be with 3 months' probation.

Housing

There may be personal housing allocated to the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the prevailing rules for rent payments in Greenland's Self-Government and municipal properties in Greenland. If permanent personal housing cannot be provided immediately on commencement, a temporary vacation housing will be offered to employees with a right to vacation housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid in accordance with the above.

Relocation travel and household effects relocation are provided in accordance with applicable rules.
