About the job

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference for people with life-threatening illnesses and their relatives? Do you thrive in an interdisciplinary environment where high professionalism, presence, and collaboration go hand in hand?

Then you may be our new physiotherapist in the specialized palliative care at Bispebjerg Hospital.

We are looking for an engaged physiotherapist for a position with an exciting and varied daily life, where you will work both in the palliative ward, in patients' own homes, and with pool bed training. The position is 37 hours per week with the work place at Bispebjerg Hospital.

Who are we?

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital is an interdisciplinary department with about 130 occupational and physiotherapists and a dedicated research unit. We work purposefully with quality, professional development and well-being, and we place a high emphasis on knowledge sharing, reflection, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

In the palliative department we meet patients with both malignant and non-malignant diseases, who often live with complex physical, psychological, social and existential challenges. We work from a holistic view of the person, where the patient’s wishes, needs and quality of life are central. Therefore, interprofessional collaboration is a core part of our everyday life, so that we can offer the best possible treatment and support to both patients and relatives together.

About the position

The position is 37 hours per week and is primarily anchored in the palliative team.

You will become part of the Medical-Surgical/Geriatric area, which consists of 22 occupational and physiotherapists, including a research and development therapist. In the palliative team there are two physiotherapists who handle physiotherapeutic tasks on the ward, in the outreach function and in connection with bed training. For us it is natural to help each other across specialties, so you will also take on physiotherapeutic tasks in the hospital’s medical ward.

As a physiotherapist with us you will have the opportunity to work independently while also engaging in close collaboration with colleagues and other professional groups around complex patient pathways.

Your primary tasks

  • Examine, assess and plan physiotherapeutic interventions based on the patient’s needs and goals.
  • Organize and implement palliative physiotherapy for patients admitted to the palliative department as well as patients in their own homes, including manual treatment.
  • Develop mobilization, transfer and positioning plans.
  • Work with respiratory physiotherapy, fall prevention, maintenance of functional ability, and prevention of contractures and pressure ulcers.
  • Teach, guide, and support patients, relatives and multidisciplinary collaborators.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary conferences, meetings and development work.

With us you become part of a workplace with an informal tone, great helpfulness and a strong collegial community. You will meet patients with very different needs and problems and have the opportunity to make a noticeable difference in some of life’s most vulnerable situations.

We offer

  • An exciting and meaningful job within specialized palliative care.
  • A thorough introduction and training in both the specialty and the tasks.
  • Close collaboration with experienced and dedicated colleagues across disciplines.
  • A workplace focused on research, development and competence development.
  • Opportunity to influence the physiotherapeutic approach and contribute to the development of workflows.
  • Visible and present leadership with focus on professional quality, collaboration and well-being.
  • A colleague group characterized by high professionalism, engagement, humor and solidarity.

We imagine that you

  • Are a licensed physiotherapist and ideally have experience from hospital care, rehabilitation or palliative care, but this is not a requirement.
  • Have a desire to work with seriously ill people and their relatives.
  • Thrive in a daily life where tasks and priorities can change.
  • Work independently, structured and with a sense of responsibility.
  • Have a curious and reflective approach to your professional practice.
  • Value interdisciplinary collaboration and actively contribute to common solutions.
  • Have an interest in evidence-based practice and professional development.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically and are aware of your professional role.
  • Have experience with lymphedema treatment or an interest in further education within the area.

Why choose us

With us you get the opportunity to combine highly specialized physiotherapy with meaningful patient pathways, close interdisciplinary collaboration and good opportunities for professional development. You will become part of a dedicated team where both patients’ quality of life and employees’ well-being are in focus.

Employment terms

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week available from 01.12.2026. You must be prepared for flexible meeting times between 08:00-16:00 on weekdays.

Salary and terms follow the collective agreement for non-supervisory personnel for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and midwives, concluded between, among others, the Danish Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapy Association, and the Regions’ Salary and Tariff Board
