About the job

Can you work with high professional standards in short patient pathways?

We are seeking a physiotherapist for the medical group with start date December 1, 2026. The position is 37 hours per week.

As a physiotherapist with us you work with complex and meaningful patient pathways - always with patients' individual wishes and preferences as the focal point.

We would prefer that you have a lymphedema training. Alternatively, you should be willing to undertake the training in April/May 2027. Your level of experience as a therapist is not decisive. The most important is your motivation to develop professionally and actively contribute to the interdisciplinary collaboration. We ensure that you get off to a good start with a mentoring scheme and a thorough introduction that gives you a safe starting point in your new tasks.

Your working day with us

You will become part of an interdisciplinary group with engaged and professionally strong physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as a present leader. The medical group covers wards for cardiovascular diseases, wards for lung diseases, wards for stomach and intestinal diseases, and the Intensive Care Unit. In addition, the medical group currently covers the autonomous specialty, lymphedema.

You will primarily be attached to one of the warded wards, but regardless of which ward you assess a patient, you will be an important part of the interdisciplinary patient pathway, where we work purposefully to create coherence and value for the patients. You will meet people in vulnerable situations and with different health challenges, where your professional knowledge, your clinical eye and your ability to engage in dialogue with patients and relatives makes a difference.

We expect that you have a strong professional competence, can stand by your assessments and can bring your physiotherapist perspective into play.

Your assessments are central to ensuring quality and continuity in patient pathways, both during admission and in connection with discharge.

Your primary tasks will be

  • physiotherapeutic assessment with a view to rehabilitation and/or assistive device needs
  • participate in conferences and other interdisciplinary collaboration
  • pulmonary physiotherapy
  • lymphedema treatments

Our daily life can be busy and sometimes unpredictable, and therefore the ability to prioritise and structure your tasks is important. That said, we make an effort to maintain a culture where we help each other and use each other's competencies - both when things are moving fast, and when there is time for in-depth work.

Professional development as a natural part of everyday life

For us, competence development is not something that happens on the side of work. It is an integrated part of our daily life. We work targeted to develop and share our competencies within the four central areas: Learning, professionalism, organization and relations. As a new colleague you become part of an environment where sparring, knowledge sharing and curiosity are natural elements of daily work.

You will receive support from both experienced colleagues and our development therapist, so you can develop your competencies within the department's focus areas and translate professional knowledge, ideas and guidelines into meaningful solutions for patients and relatives.

About us

The physiotherapy and occupational therapy department is currently an autonomous department. On January 1, 2027, the department will merge with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy at Zealand University Hospital, Roskilde and Køge.

Until then you will be part of a department with about 25 engaged colleagues. The common thread for us is the desire to make a real difference for patients and support them in achieving the best possible functioning through palliative and rehabilitation pathways.

We are organized in interdisciplinary specialty groups within orthopaedic surgery, medicine, stroke/geriatric, and children. At the same time we emphasize being one unified professional community, where we help each other across, so tasks are solved in the best possible way and everyone gets through the day well.

The department is staffed all year round. The physiotherapists' working hours are currently planned on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a fixed rota in a 4-week cycle. After the introduction period you will join a on-call duty with long shifts until 5:00 p.m. 1-4 times a month, weekend duty about every other month, and some holidays. In the on-call duties tasks are performed across specialties at a generalist level.

Flexibility in scheduling is a core value for us. We take as much as possible into account individual wishes and needs, and we are good at helping each other to make work-life and private life fit together as well as possible.

Interviews are expected to be held on Tuesday, October 27 in the morning.

The employment is conditional on receipt of a satisfactory children's certificate (police certificate).

Area of employment

Region Zealand and the Capital Region will on January 1, 2027 become Region East Denmark as a result of the health reform. Your area of employment will be Region East Denmark with all related organizational units.
