About the job
And would you like an exciting everyday life – possibly as part of our easily accessible treatment offers in the future?
Then we might be the right match for you, as we are expanding with two positions!
You can ’meet’ your new colleagues and hear a little about your new workplace in this short video: Short film about us
A workplace with a good atmosphere, high professional standards and psychological safety
As a new psychologist with us you will become part of a multidisciplinary district team consisting of psychologists, speech-language pathologists and special education teachers. We think we are characterized by:
- Helpfulness – there is always someone you can call
- Safety/Trust – we share our doubts and learn from our mistakes
- Engagement – we do our best every day to make a difference
Although our daily work is in many different places around the municipality and we don’t see each other every day, we have a good and close collegial community.
We total 28 psychologists, of whom some are newly graduated, while others have many years of experience and solid professional knowledge – that gives a really good dynamic.
A typical workweek for you can, for example, include activities such as
- Sparring with a teaching team
- Observation in a kindergarten
- Being in a class
- Lunch with colleagues
- Testing a child
- Supervision on your tasks
- Conversation with parents
- Write a PPV
- Maybe participate in a working group planning a Christmas lunch or a professional presentation…
We help the adults around the children
Although your tasks will be varied, the goal is always to help the adults around the children to create professional and social participation opportunities for children in schools and early childhood education centers.
Easily accessible treatment offers for children and parents
You will also in time have the opportunity to become part of our easily accessible treatment offers (LTT), which you can read more about here: Easily accessible treatment offers in Helsingør Municipality
Are you a recent graduate or experienced?
We value diversity, so please apply regardless of whether you
- Are a recent graduate (or about to be)
- Have PPR experience
- Have done other kinds of psychology work
Training and professional development
As a newly hired psychologist with us you will always be assigned a mentor. In the first two weeks you will simply follow your mentor and/or other colleagues around in their tasks to gain insight into your upcoming daily life.
We continuously prioritise professional development – through supervision, sparring and the opportunity to delve into particular areas of interest within PPR tasks.
You will be met with a trusting leadership style that makes space for your input and ideas, while of course you will receive the necessary training, guidance and ongoing sparring you need.
Flexibility and the possibility to work on the train
If you travel by train from Copenhagen, you can use the train ride as working time (unless you’d rather look out the window at Øresund or Dyrehaven).
It is also possible to work from home with administrative tasks when it fits with the calendar.
A dip in the waves after work?
We are fortunate to have many kilometers of coastline and several beautiful sandy beaches, so if you dream of taking a dip on your way to or from work, there are plenty of opportunities – summer and winter!
Do you have questions?
Then you are very welcome to contact us

Ongoing recruitment interviews
Application deadline is Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 23.59.
But we conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, so don’t wait too long…
Start date is as a rule December 1, 2026, but we are flexible.
In Helsingør Municipality we value that employees and managers develop their professional knowledge. Therefore we focus on creating coherence between the ambitious development of the entire Helsingør Municipality organization and further education for both employees and managers – professionally and personally. 9 out of 10 residents live less than 2 km from the water. Here Hamlet and Kronborg meet with world-famous architecture and a cozy medieval town in one and the same place. Check #ExperienceHelsingor and see for yourself.
