Would you like to be involved in working on one of the larger welfare areas right in the municipal machinery? And are you eager to contribute to coordination, development and high-quality analysis work in a cross-disciplinary context? And do you thrive with a broad palette of tasks and functions – and with juggling many balls in the air? Then we can offer you an internship in the Secretariat in Children & Youth in the spring semester 2027, where you will have ample opportunity to gain experience and develop within the municipal sector.
You will become part of the Secretariat's consultant team, which is responsible for development and analysis tasks as well as a wide range of management-support activities. You will help serve everyone from politicians and managers to staff – and in doing so you will help bring light to the eyes of children and young people in Viborg Municipality. You will have the opportunity to contribute to different generalist tasks. We tailor the concrete tasks to your profile, but here are some examples of areas of responsibility:
Evaluation, communication, collaboration with civil society, support for development of pedagogical practice, relational welfare and scaling. All within the framework of the program: Together for Children and Youth, which consists of various initiatives aimed at promoting communities where as many children and young people as possible participate.
Secretariat support for the Children and Youth Committee, e.g., case submissions, analyses and other tasks derived from the committee's work. Planning, execution and facilitation of various meetings and activities. Data work in connection with the preparation of management information.
About you
- You have completed a relevant bachelor's degree and are currently pursuing your master's degree in social sciences.
- You have a desire to work with tasks within the children and youth area.
- You have good communication skills, an overview, and analytical understanding.
- You want to gain concrete experience working in a larger municipality.
- You are good at planning your time.
- You are proactive and can act on your own, while also being willing to ask for help and seek sparring.
- You can also participate in a task community and collaborate with others.
We offer
- An opportunity to test your analytical, communicative and methodological competencies in practice.
- A varied and developmental internship in a politically led organization.
- Exciting and professionally challenging tasks.
- A mentor who will provide you with ongoing feedback to ensure you get the maximum benefit from your internship.
- A workplace with openness, skilled colleagues and good working conditions.
Terms
The internship is in the spring semester 2027. Start and end dates by agreement.
The workplace is Viborg Town Hall, Prinsens Allé 5, 8800 Viborg.
Working hours to be agreed.
A child and criminal record check will be obtained before the start of employment.
About us
In Viborg Municipality, children and young people must have light in their eyes and master their own lives. We have about 14,000 children in our day care and schools, and we work every day so that they become as skilled as they can. We are about 4,000 skilled colleagues in B&U, who with each their professional expertise and function all contribute to the common task – which we call "Different in Community".
In the secretariat we are about 35 colleagues who work with a broad portfolio of administrative and management-support tasks distributed on two administrative teams and a consultant team consisting of 10 employees, which you will be affiliated with.
Application deadline
The application deadline is Sunday, 18 October 2026. Invitations to interviews will be sent immediately after the application deadline, and the interviews are expected to take place in week 43. If you have questions, you can contact development consultants Kasper Dahl Jensen at tel. 20 46 34 81 or Signe Appel at tel. 87 87 10 39.
We look forward to receiving your application and would also like to highlight that our good colleagues in Technical & Environment are seeking an intern in parallel with this posting. Therefore it is possible to apply for both.
