POSITION OVERVIEW
Intern
Intern for outreach and school service (Spring 2027)
Can you make world conflicts relevant to a high school class? Become an intern at RIKO in Spring 2027, and develop our teaching in international conflict resolution.
We are looking for you who want to develop and run RIKO's teaching in international conflict resolution. You will work with role plays and dilemma games, where the students themselves try to negotiate a solution.
RIKO – The Council for International Conflict Resolution – is an independent foreign policy think tank. We work to ensure that international conflicts are handled with non-military means: conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation and dialogue based on the latest research. RIKO is 100% volunteer-driven.
Responsibilities
- Further develop and test RIKO's dilemma game on the EU and our role plays on international conflict resolution
- Conduct teaching programs and role plays at high schools and other educational institutions
- Build RIKO's school service: offers, teacher guides and booking
- Develop RIKO's lecture bank with council members as speakers
- Contribute to RIKO's events for the public
About you
- You are studying e.g. to become a teacher or studying pedagogy, social studies, political science, history or communications
- You have experience with teaching or communication and thrive in front of a class
- You are creative and can make complex topics concrete
- You are independent and good at collaborating with volunteers
We offer
- Opportunity to develop and test your own teaching formats
- Experience with both didactics and international politics
- Close collaboration with RIKO's volunteers and council
- A dedicated internship supervisor
Practical info
- Period: February 1 – June 30, 2027 (weeks 6–26). Start, end and hours tailored to the requirements of your education.
- Salary: The internship is unpaid and must be able to be included in your education.
- Workplace: RIKO's office, Dronningensgade 14, 1420 Copenhagen K, as well as schools and educational institutions. Part of the collaboration takes place online because RIKO is volunteer-driven.
- Application: Send a short motivated application and your CV to Kristian Svendsen, daily coordinator, at [email protected]. State your education and your hours.
