About the job
Do you want to be part of the fight against global inequality? And are you interested in politics, development, communication and analysis? Then read on here!
The inequality in the world is enormous. It concentrates power in the hands of a few, damages democracy and creates poverty and conflict. For billions of people it means they do not have access to proper education or fair living conditions.
About the internship
You will become part of the Public Affairs, Advocacy and Domestic Program department, where we work to strengthen the fight against global inequality. Here you will be involved in the core of Oxfam Denmark's political work, especially within climate justice and inequality, where you will follow political issues here at home and globally, which have great significance for the Global South.
Therefore you should find it exciting to change the policies and structures that keep people in poverty, and that increase the devastating inequality. In addition, you are not afraid to dive into longer reports or draft political messages and at the same time become acquainted with a number of the tools used in advocacy work.
You will among other things
- Support our advocacy work against inequality aimed at the Danish Parliament (Christiansborg) and the broader civil society.
- Carry out research and analyses and write policy briefs that strengthen the evidentiary basis for our advocacy work.
- Focus attention on our agendas in the wider public by contributing to press work and writing opinion pieces, as well as helping to plan and hold public events (e.g., Folkemødet), hearings, conferences and webinars.
- Help our campaign team engage Danes in the fight against inequality, for example through our public campaigns or social media.
Your competencies
You are a student pursuing a longer higher education that touches on development, climate or inequality – e.g., Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Sociology or similar, and we would like you to be in the final year of your bachelor’s or pursuing a master's degree.
Your work is grounded in knowledge and facts, and you can approach complex agendas independently and translate knowledge from research and analyses in both Danish and English into effective communication. It is also an advantage if you have experience working with numbers and data and possibly experience with Excel in connection with research notes.
You are curious and thrive in an environment where things move fast, but where there is also a need for thoroughness and depth.
It would be an advantage if you have an interest in political decision-making processes in Denmark or in international politics.
Oxfam Denmark offers
We expect that you can be an intern at Oxfam Denmark full-time (37 hours per week) in the period February 1 – June 30, 2027. We are flexible with regard to adjusting the working hours to your studies and possibly a study job. Read more about the conditions for being in internship at Oxfam Denmark under Internship at Oxfam Denmark.
You will gain a thorough insight into an organization that seeks to make the world a better place for the poorest and most marginalised people through advocacy and information work. You will become part of a dynamic, engaged and fun workplace in Copenhagen with great opportunities for professional development and networking with our other interns.
The address is Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, close to Ryparken station, where we live in a shared NGO house called 'VOX'.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer our interns a salary, and it is therefore a requirement that you receive SU. We offer you, in return, a free lunch scheme (mostly vegetarian) and the possibility to participate in various joint activities in VOX.
Application etc.
Click the Apply button and send your application and CV to us as soon as possible and no later than 28 October 2026. We will hold interviews in week 45.
For further information about the internship, you are welcome to contact Mads Busck, Senior Policy Advisor: [email protected], tel. +45 5192 3780.
We encourage all qualified applicants to apply for the position – regardless of ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion or age. Please note that we do not accept applications outside of our recruitment system.
