About the job

Would you like to test your skills in Public Affairs at one of Denmark's largest business organizations?

Now you have the opportunity to become part of an ambitious team working at the intersection of politics, business, and advocacy. As an intern in Landbrug & Fødevarer's Public Affairs department you will have a varied daily life, closely connected to decision-makers and the political agenda.

About the job

We are at the heart of a number of major political agendas that affect the entire food sector – not least the continued implementation and follow-up on the green tripartite agreement. At the same time we follow developments in the local tripartites where municipalities, industry and organisations must translate the green tripartite into concrete restructuring plans and projects.

In the spring of 2027 there will also be a focus on the entry into force of the new nitrogen regulation, the work on future pig production, and a new food policy strategy. As an intern you will have the opportunity to assist in the work – including political follow-up, analysis, stakeholder management and communication. You will also support our work navigating the new political landscape – nationally and in the EU – so that the food sector remains strong and heard in the political processes.

Your tasks

As an intern in Public Affairs you will be involved in many varied tasks, e.g.

  • Research for political proposals, analyses and notes
  • Preparation of material for the board of directors, presidency and PA advisors ahead of meetings with ministers, members of parliament, civil servants and companies
  • Notes and inputs to the political work in L&F and the Folketing
  • Contributions to planning and execution of political events and network meetings
  • Assisting with daily operations and ongoing ad hoc tasks in the department

About you

We imagine that you

  • Have an interest in politics and societal issues – preferably with political sense and flair for understanding the actors at Christiansborg and in the political landscape
  • Are thorough, structured and can work independently with your tasks
  • Are curious about how political agendas are developed and realized in close collaboration with companies and organisations
  • Thrive in an environment with many different tasks and deadlines
  • Have good written skills and can communicate complex topics in a simple and easily understandable way

Your field of study is not decisive – maybe you study political science, law, economics, rhetoric, international business and politics or something completely different. The most important is that you are motivated by political advocacy, the food sector, and want to learn more about Public Affairs in practice.

About us

Landbrug & Fødevarer takes social responsibility and has, with the green tripartite, committed to creating a greener Denmark while we develop our food production.

We represent the entire value chain from field to table – from farmer to food company. The food cluster supports over 180,000 jobs and exports 200 billion Danish kroner annually, contributing significantly to the Danish economy and the cohesion between rural and urban areas. We work with all aspects of the value chain and with important topics such as climate, environment and business policy that ensure a Denmark without large geographical differences.

We operate daily within the political system at both national and European levels, and we have a close dialogue with our many local associations and some of Denmark's largest companies. We have over 20,000 members – both farmers and companies – spanning from conventional and organic farming to plant-based foods, energy production and biosolutions. We work every day to ensure that all their perspectives are heard and included in the town halls, on Slotsholmen and in Brussels.

The Public Affairs team consists of 8 dedicated colleagues who work closely with management and the presidency as well as our many members and political stakeholders. We are an open, professional, and good-humoured department.

We offer

  • A internship program with insight into political processes and advocacy at a high level
  • Mentoring and learning in a strong Public Affairs environment
  • A program where you work closely with our experienced consultants and have the opportunity to develop within advisory and strategic communication. We closely monitor your development through ongoing 1:1 conversations between you and your supervisor.
  • An inspiring office community at Axelborg in Copenhagen

Practical

As an intern you will be employed on a full-time contract and thus have a unique opportunity to test yourself against the house's different deliverables on a daily basis. As an intern you will receive financial compensation. The internship program must be transferable as credit to a relevant higher education program.

The Danish food sector has a vision of being climate neutral by 2050. Together with our members from farming, the food and agro-industry, we will show that there is an economically sustainable path to climate-neutral food production. As a representative of the entire food cluster, supporting 180,000 jobs and annual exports of 200 billion kroner, we represent a value chain with weight and a will to find solutions to the world's climate challenges in close collaboration with the rest of Denmark.
