About the job
Are you studying Public Health Science and interested in an internship close to clinical practice at Aarhus University Hospital in spring 2027?
Then come and be part of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, where implementation, research, management as well as professional and organizational development go hand in hand with clinical practice.
At Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at Aarhus University Hospital, approximately 200 engaged clinicians, development therapists, managers and researchers work closely together to develop, test and implement evidence-based examinations, interventions and working procedures. The department covers almost all specialties at AUH, with the exception of psychiatry, and we work with many types of projects and methods. The driving principle of our work is that what we do should provide value to the patient and be sustainable in relation to the use of the health service’s resources.
If you say yes to an internship with us, you will be attached to our research unit. It consists of Research Leader Nanna Rolving, the researchers Maja Husted Hubeishy and Lotte Sørensen, as well as a varying number of PhD students and research assistants.
We are looking for
We are looking for two interns who will be able to work alongside each other, but also work together and spar with each other. You will have the opportunity to be attached to one or more projects, where we can make good use of your competencies from the Public Health Science education.
Examples of tasks we would like your help with include literature searches, thinking through logical models, designing studies, collecting data, performing analyses, helping to develop teaching materials and whatever else may arise. We work in close contact with practice, with complex interventions, validation of measurement methods, implementation research and we use both qualitative and quantitative methods. At the moment we are working on research and development projects in cardiology, cardiac surgery, pulmonology, emergency department, ambulance, the spine area, dysphagia and intensive care.
Depending on what you wish, you can take responsibility for your own sub-project, or you can gain broader experience by helping on several different projects. We will, together with you, discuss whether there are particular areas or methods you are interested in, or something you would like to lead (with supervision), possibly with the aim of being able to carry out your specialization with us subsequently.
We offer
We offer an internship under orderly conditions and in an informal work environment, where both researchers, clinicians and staff will be your collaborators. Research Leader Nanna Rolving will be attached as internship supervisor, providing you with sparring and feedback throughout your internship. The internship is unpaid, but both the internship period and the weekly number of hours can be arranged individually to fit your study program, and we are flexible regarding concurrent studies and hobbies.
The application deadline is November 15, 2026. We process applications on an ongoing basis and invite suitable candidates for an interview. The internship starts February 1, 2027.
The employment is conditional on a satisfactory child-safety check.
If you have questions about the internship before you apply, please contact Lotte at email [email protected] or phone 5170 7648.
