Internship close to political power

As an intern for the Social Democrats, you face an intense semester with a wealth of unique experiences and insights from the corridors of Christiansborg. At the same time, you will gain a network that you can benefit from for the rest of your professional career, and an experience that reaches broadly. Christiansborg is a place where things move quickly, and where you will find the most skilled people in political analysis, communication and strategy. So you must be prepared for a steep learning curve, where you can become wiser about how to use your academic competencies in practice.

We are two Members of Parliament for the Social Democrats who together offer an opportunity to work with modern political communication with us behind the walls of Christiansborg. We deal with a wide range of topics, from social initiatives and health, to equality and nature and animal welfare. We are looking for an intern who has both professional and political abilities, as well as the courage to contribute in a collaboration, and who can work independently.

There is a focus on your development

The internship will be tailored to you and your educational profile with ongoing sparring along the way. For us it is important that during the internship you gain experiences and acquire practical skills that you would not obtain during a normal semester of study.

The aim of the internship is to equip you well for a future career in a politically active organization or in the public administration. During your internship you will participate in political work with legislation, media handling, policy development, campaigns, communication and analysis.

It can include, for example

• Research and background material related to current cases
• Written communication such as notes, newsletters, op-eds and speech drafts
• Development and execution of campaigns, new communication concepts, content for digital and print media
• Preparation of materials for external meetings and visits
• Organization of political events

We place emphasis on your tasks being varied, educational and relevant to your education.

Application deadline

We are seeking an intern for spring 2027. Application deadline 30 October 2026 with ongoing interviews.

It is a condition that the internship can be transferred as credit to a relevant higher education. There will be flexibility in connection with exams and university assignments.

Networking and social cohesion

As an intern with us you will become an integrated part of the Social Democratic team that on a daily basis helps shape Denmark's future. The relationships you create with us will form the framework for a professional network that you will be able to benefit from for the rest of your professional career.

As an intern you will also automatically become a member of the Social Democrats' student and intern association “S-student association,” which is run voluntarily by the party's students and interns, and which during the semester holds social events.

You will also become part of the team that generally surrounds us, and expand your network and acquaintances.
