About us

The Air Defence Wing is a new operational unit in the Air Force, which will build the armed forces' ground-based air defense. As part of strengthening the armed forces' combat power, we will hire, acquire materiel and train personnel at a high tempo in the coming years. Therefore we need one more colleague who can help lift the communication task.

We are a growing organization with both military and civilian staff who together will build a completely new capability.

Your permanent workplace will be Skalstrup Air Station, just outside Roskilde, but there will also be several days away from the office in connection with exercises and activities. Just as the Air Defence Wing also has a unit in Tirstrup.

About the position

As a press officer you will be part of the Air Defence Wing's Management Secretariat, where you in close cooperation with the unit's communications advisor will play a central role in developing and implementing Air Defence Wing's communications effort.

Your main tasks will be to

• Handle media relations and advise spokespersons in connection with media appearances.
• Contribute to the production and execution of content for social media and internal communication channels.
• Photography and video production.
• Ensure press readiness at exercises, activities and other local events.
• Coordinate the communication effort with the Air Command and the Defense Command.
• Support the organization's other communication needs, including recruitment and retention of employees.
• Produce both external and internal communication.

You will have a varied everyday life with both strategic projects and tasks that require quick action. At the same time, you will become part of an organization with great political attention, where you will have the opportunity to influence the unit's communication.

About you

Whether you are a soldier or civilian is not decisive, but for you to succeed in the job it is required that you have a good knowledge of the Defence. The crucial thing is that you can document that you have experience with press work and can translate complex issues into clear and targeted communication.

You do not need to have prior knowledge of the Air Force or ground-based air defense. If you have a communications background, flair for digital communication, or experience with staff work, that is also an advantage.

The position is in principle a project position with a fixed-term employment of 2 years.

Employment and remuneration are according to the applicable state agreement.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is an opportunity for negotiation of allowances. The position is linked to an employer-financed pension scheme.

As an employee of the Ministry of Defence's group, you must be able to obtain security clearance and maintain the clearance throughout the employment process.

As an employee you are obliged to render service outside the country, including at units in international operations.

ABOUT THE AIR DEFENCE WING

The Air Defence Wing is a new unit in the Air Force responsible for Denmark's ground-based air defense. We are building a completely new capability based at Skalstrup Air Station – previously home to the air defense – and follow the Air Force's wing structure with groups for support, operations and logistics.

Our task is to plan, implement and operate the ground-based air defense while at the same time recruiting and training the personnel behind the capability. In the coming years we will establish both temporary and permanent solutions, and many exciting career opportunities will arise along the way.
