Gistrup–Gunderup–Nøvling Pastorate stands in the middle of an exciting development. Our three parishes are moving toward a closer community, and we are seeking a priest who wants to be an active player in this work. You will be a priest for all three parishes, with housing in Gistrup. You will join a pastorate with strong traditions, engaged people and church life that is in motion.

We are seeking a priest with theological depth, who with words and actions will convey the hope and fellowship of the Christian faith.

We are seeking a humane priest who can both stand securely at the pulpit and naturally engage in the many relationships that carry the church in daily life. You are good at communicating - in worship, in conversation, in collaboration and in the communities you become a part of.

We are seeking a proactive priest who wishes to contribute to our communities, in the development we are in the midst of. This is a role for an active team player who wants to be with us where things are happening, and who is eager to shape the future together with us.

Your daily work will involve operating as part of both a priest group and a staff group. We have a skilled parish priest with over 20 years of tenure in the pastorate, and we are facing two new hires in which you are one. Here are three skilled organists with their own musical profiles, a mixed staff group and a parish council that is active and engaged.

About the pastorate

The three parishes count 6,300 members of the Church of Denmark, and the population is characterized by proximity to the town of Aalborg. The single parish with two villages and a large hinterland has a more rural character, while the other parish consists of two town centers, one with a school and the other with a grocery store, etc. The third and largest parish has a suburban character with a large school, shopping opportunities and health and care functions.

The parishes are currently initiating a new leadership structure with three church councils, whose task is to be and to support church life locally, and a joint parish council that carries the common tasks. The three parishes' churches all have a churchyard, and there is a meeting hall at each.

The position as civil servant parish priest in Gunderup-Nøvling-Gistrup Pastorate, Aalborg East Deanery is available for appointment on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Attached to the position is a commitment as clerk of the parish register and as burial authority.

The position is a full-time post.

As a new parish priest you will receive an introduction program, where you will be assigned a mentor who guides you through the early period in the office and familiarizes you with the various tasks that come with being a priest.

The post is covered by the Regulation on the Employment of Clergy in the Church of Denmark (LBK no. 676 of 13/7/2026).

The position is paid according to salary group 1 in the agreement on the remuneration of civil-servant priests in the Church of Denmark.

In addition to the salary, a standing allowance is provided with a rounded base amount as of March 31, 2012 for a full-time position of DKK 43,000.00 annually. For part-time employment, the allowance will be calculated proportionally to the employment quota.

The position is covered by the rules on New Salary, which means it is possible to request a salary negotiation.

There is an on-site housing attached to the position. The service house is located at Splinten 16, 9260 Gistrup. The housing allowance for the service house, excluding electricity, water and heating, amounts currently to DKK 4,660.88.

It is assumed that applicants hold a driving license for a regular car (B) and are willing to use their own car at work.
