About the job
Do you want to lead the products on which the entire police force's identity and access management rests? We are looking for a Product Owner who can take responsibility for prioritisation and development of the police's solutions within Active Directory, privileged access management (PAM) and Exchange.
About the position
The identity area in the police is undergoing a significant development. The identity-related infrastructure is being modernised, user administration automated to a growing extent, and the police are establishing a unified solution for privileged access management. At the same time, security requirements for identities and access are continually being tightened.
As a Product Owner, you will play a central role in translating goals, needs and requirements into clear priorities and concrete deliverables – and in creating coherence between development, operations and security.
We value that you are a capable Product Owner. You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you should be willing to familiarise yourself with the area and engage in dialogue with those who are.
About the team and section
You will become part of the Identity & Access Management section, which is organised into two teams:
- IAM team works with identity governance and automated user administration (Omada).
- AD/Exchange team is responsible for the operation and further development of the identity-related infrastructure.
You will have product responsibility for the AD/Exchange team’s products as well as PAM, and will work closely with the team’s specialists, the section's PAM specialists, the IAM team, the centre's architects and security functions, as well as business areas and suppliers across the police.
Your tasks
- own and prioritise backlog for AD, PAM and Exchange in close collaboration with the team and the section leader
- translate strategic goals and requirements into concrete quarterly deliveries and ongoing deliveries
- actively participate in the centre's quarterly planning, including clarification of dependencies and risks across centres
- drive the establishment of the police's PAM solution together with specialists and suppliers
- ensure balance between development, operations and maintenance so that operational tasks are visible in the planning
- act as the link to stakeholders in security, infrastructure and business
- follow up on progress and ensure that deliveries create the expected value
We expect that you
- have experience as Product Owner, product manager or from a similar role
- are good at prioritising and making decisions, even when wishes exceed capacity
- can translate goals and needs into concrete and realistic deliveries
- have an analytical and structured approach and can create an overview of complex interrelationships
- communicate clearly in Danish and English, both to technicians and non-technicians
- have enough IT understanding to engage in constructive dialogue with specialists
It is advantageous if you have experience with
- agile ways of working and planning across teams
- identity and access management, e.g. Active Directory, Entra ID or Exchange
- privileged access management (PAM)
- working in a public or security-critical organisation
We offer
- a central role in the modernisation of the police's identity and access management
- opportunity to influence products, priorities and workflows from the start
- a professionally strong environment with specialists in IAM, PAM, infrastructure, architecture and security
- an open working environment where we value collaboration and professional development
- flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work
- a job in an organisation with an important societal role
Terms of employment
Salary and terms of employment are set according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Association of Lawyers. The position can be filled as Special Consultant or Chief Consultant depending on qualifications and experience. The final placement will be made after a concrete assessment.
It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance and maintain it. Your workplace will be the National Police, with an address at Polititorvet 14, 1567 Copenhagen. The National Police IT Centre will, during 2026-2027, be consolidated at Frederikskaj near Sluseholmen.
The National Police has a smoke-free working environment.

In the police, we all work together for safety and security
We are about 18,000 employees in the police, of whom around two thirds are police officers and cadets and the rest are civilian staff. We are all deeply committed to ensuring that the sovereign state is a safe and secure place to live – whether we work with operational readiness, prevention or investigation, or contribute with one of the many other important functions in the police.
The National Police is the police authority and has overall responsibility for the 14 regional police, and the National Unit for Serious Crime (NSK). We ensure that the police has the right framework for police work and development. We stand for good leadership and training. Behind service weapons that match the task. Behind proper help if the wound has affected the minds of our colleagues. We stand for technology that keeps pace with development. Behind the allocation of resources. Behind the police of the future. It is us – the National Police – who are always behind those who lead from the front.
