About the job

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an engaged and solution-oriented employee who can handle tasks in production planning, purchasing and materials management.

This is a full-time position starting through Try & Hire, where after an initial period you will have the opportunity for permanent employment with the company if the collaboration is the right match.

A versatile role with responsibility and collaboration

You will play an important role in ensuring daily planning, material supply and purchasing work together in a cohesive whole. You must both be able to manage the practical details and have an eye for where processes can be improved.

You will become part of a team of 5-8 colleagues in Vejle and report to the production manager. In addition, you will have a wide interface with, among others, production, engineering and the company’s suppliers as well as collaboration with colleagues abroad.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) is a central part of daily life. Therefore you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the system being used effectively and for data and processes to be continuously improved.

Your primary areas of responsibility

Planning and coordination of production

  • Organize production plans and ensure ongoing follow-up on progress.
  • Coordinate production orders and ensure that materials are available when needed.
  • Identify and handle deviations between planning and actual production.
  • Ensure good coordination and information exchange between production, engineering and material management.

Purchasing and contact with suppliers

  • Handle purchase orders and related documentation in Business Central.
  • Check order confirmations and follow up on deliveries to ensure schedules are kept.
  • Obtain prices and quotes and make comparisons to find the best solutions.
  • Contribute to reducing costs and making purchasing processes more efficient.
  • Maintain good supplier relationships and ensure a professional dialogue about orders and deliveries.

Systems, data and optimization

  • Maintain and quality-assure master data about goods and suppliers in Business Central.
  • Identify opportunities to make workflows within planning and purchasing more efficient.
  • Participate in the development of common procedures and standards that support a well-functioning production.

Who are you?

You likely have a technical or commercial background, for example as a mechanical technician, technical assistant, purchaser or with a comparable education or experience.

It would be advantageous if you have previously worked with planning, purchasing or materials management in a manufacturing company. Experience from the metal industry is relevant but not a requirement.

We would like you to

  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Business Central and be comfortable working in an ERP system.
  • Master Excel and be able to use it to structure data, prepare analyses and create an overview.
  • Have experience with following up on key figures and reporting, or be keen to develop your competencies in the area.
  • Familiar with Lean or other tools to improve processes.
  • Can communicate in English, both written and spoken.

You don’t need to know everything from the start. The most important thing is that you have an interest in production flow and supply chains, work in a structured way and follow your tasks through to completion.

Your personal qualities

To thrive in the job it is important that you can combine structure with flexibility. You work meticulously, take initiative and are good at finding solutions when changes or challenges arise.

In addition, we place emphasis on the following

  • Are responsible and have a sense for details.
  • Collaborate well with different disciplines and communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Can prioritise your tasks and maintain an overview when it is busy.
  • Have an analytical approach and see opportunities to do things smarter.
  • Thrives in a daily work where coordination, follow-up and collaboration are crucial.

What can you look forward to?

We can offer, among other things

  • A varied full-time position with broad contact and independent responsibility.
