About the job

Production Technician for Energy Production at Amager Bakke

ARC is seeking a production technician for Amager Bakke who is passionate about technology, operations and energy production. You will become a central part of the daily operation and, together with your colleagues, have responsibility for monitoring, regulating and optimizing a large and complex process plant.

We follow the entire process from receipt of waste to the production of electricity and district heating as well as handling of slag and ash. This means you will get close to many different technologies and processes and continuously build a broad technical understanding of the plant.

You do not need to have prior experience in energy production. The most important thing is that you have a relevant technical background, an interest in the field and a desire to learn.

Your tasks

  • ensure the production of electricity and heat in collaboration with the production manager
  • monitor and regulate the plant via the SIS/SCADA system
  • respond to operational disturbances and technical deviations
  • conduct rounds and supervise the plant
  • contribute to troubleshooting and solving operational problems
  • work on optimization and improvement of production
  • collaborate across production, maintenance and other technical functions
  • solve various support tasks in daily operations
  • perform crane operation when needed.

Your professional background

We imagine that you have a technical or craft education and a strong interest in operations and technology. You may already have experience from a power plant, waste incineration, energy production, process industry, utilities or other large technical facilities.

The most important thing is , that you have the technical prerequisites, are curious and eager to continually develop your professional skills.

We emphasize that you

  • have technical understanding and an interest in complex production plants
  • have experience with SIS/SCADA systems or other process and operations control, or have the prerequisites to learn it
  • work safely, structured and responsible
  • can combine practical work with technical and analytical problem-solving
  • can keep an overview and make decisions, even when operations require quick action
  • thrive in collaboration and take responsibility for both own and shared tasks

It is an advantage if you have an extended boiler operator certificate and experience with boiler or process operation, but it is not a requirement. If you have a relevant professional background and motivation to learn, ARC offers the necessary training and education so you can obtain the certificate. We place emphasis on both your experience, your motivation and your desire to learn.

About the job

You will become part of a watch team that works according to a fixed shift plan.

The production is around-the-clock staffed, where the watch consists of a production manager and a production technician. The work is organized in 7 shifts over a 7-week period, with shifts distributed between 12-hour day and night shifts. In addition, a normal working week of 37 hours every 7 weeks is included.

It is therefore important that you thrive with shift work and with the independent responsibility that comes with being part of the around-the-clock operation.

We offer

  • a job with great responsibility for daily operations and energy production
  • a strong technical and professional environment
  • thorough onboarding and good opportunities for professional development
  • close collaboration with experienced and engaged colleagues
  • extended boiler operator certificate
  • close collaboration with experienced colleagues within production, operations and engineering
  • focus on safety, stable operation and continuous optimization
  • wages, pension and allowances in accordance with applicable municipal agreements and ARC agreements.
  • health scheme with various treatment and exercise offers as well as an active staff association and social events.
