About the job

Educator sought for kindergarten - with focus on language, outdoor life and learning environments.

Do you love jumping in puddles, lighting fires and taking the children on an exploration in nature? THEN you may be our new educator!

We are seeking an engaged and attentive educator who will help create a kindergarten routine with a focus on strong child communities, language development, outdoor life and inspiring learning environments.

Børnehuset Knolden is located in the scenic Himmelev and is part of the Midtøst Area.

We have 74 children, distributed across two age-integrated nurseries and three kindergarten groups.

With us, we use the outdoor space as a learning and development environment. Nature gives children the opportunity for movement, deepening, imagination and shared experiences. We see the playground and the local environment as important pedagogical spaces where children can be curious, exploring and involved.

You will play an important role in supporting children's language development throughout the day. We work with language in play, in daily routines and in small groups. At the same time, we consciously work to create learning environments where all children feel they belong and have the opportunity to participate.

Our everyday life is characterized by strong engagement, a good atmosphere and room for laughter.

We are particularly focused on play, nature and outdoor life — both in our work with the individual child and with the broader community.

We collaborate broadly with the local community, including Bernadottegården, the Viking Ship Museum, and the book bus

Our professional starting point is based on a resource-oriented view of children. We recognize children's differences as a strength and as a natural part of broad child communities.

We work for an educational practice where the boundaries between general and special education blur in the encounter with the individual child and the individual group of children. The goal is to create participation opportunities and inclusive learning environments for all children.

We use the language staircase as a systematic tool to follow children's development and qualify our pedagogical work. On this basis, we design learning environments that support the individual child's linguistic participation and development throughout the day.

In the Municipality of Roskilde it is politically prioritized that all houses are allocated preparation time. The preparation time should give staff the opportunity to work more systematically with the core task, and at the same time create better conditions for professional development, well-being, job satisfaction and strong communities – without compromising children's time and staffing.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Works resource-oriented and sees children's differences as a strength
  • Wants to work systematically and structurally with pedagogical development and reflection
  • Is curious about nature, outdoor life and play as a pedagogical tool
  • Sees the playground as an important learning space
  • Can contribute to inclusive learning environments and broad child communities
  • Has a focus on the core task and on how we can continuously develop and improve our practice
  • Can engage in close and constructive collaboration with parents, colleagues and the local community

What you get

  • Guaranteed preparation time
  • Good colleagues with high professional standards, high spirits and a focus on a healthy work environment
  • A daily life with curious, fun and wonderful children
  • Exciting and developmental projects that connect theory and practice
  • Opportunity to shape the pedagogical practice and the house's learning environments.
  • Opportunity for both practical and theoretical pedagogical development

If you have questions or would like a tour, you are welcome to contact the pedagogical leader Betina Christensen at tel. 2490 6495, or by email: [email protected]

Criminal background and child protection checks as well as references will be obtained before employment. Salary is negotiated according to the applicable collective agreement.
