About the job
Permanent position at 37 hours per week | Rødovre | September 2026
Do you have many years of practical experience with 24-hour shift schedules in the public sector?
FOA/KLS is looking for a professional caseworker who can independently review working hours and pay and identify errors that affect our members' pay and rights.
Our members primarily work in kitchens and cleaning in municipalities, the Capital Region and other public workplaces. Therefore it is essential that you have in-depth practical experience with 24-hour shift agreements. Knowledge of collective agreements is not sufficient in itself. It concerns the 24-hour shift agreement 79.01 under KL and the 24-hour shift agreement 11.05.11.1 under the Regions. About FOA KLS
FOA/KLS is an independent trade union and part of the FOA family. We are based in Rødovre and primarily organize members within the kitchen and cleaning sector. Many of our members have a mother tongue other than Danish and varying prerequisites for reading and understanding rules and decisions. Therefore our guidance must be technically precise, respectful and easy to understand.
Your most important professional task
You must be able to go through members' working hours and pay from scratch, explain the result clearly and follow the case through to the end. This means that you must be able to:
- check payslips, working time calculations and disbursements/payments
- assess rosters, standard periods, rest periods, days off and changes in working hours
- verify time-based allowances, overtime, extra work and other relevant components of pay
- identify errors and calculate or document claims for adjustment and back pay
- apply relevant collective agreements and working time agreements to concrete cases
- communicate calculations and rules so the member understands both the result and the next steps
Your other tasks
- telephone and written member advice with an average of two to three advisory shifts per week
- case handling including employment law, vacation, maternity/paternity, work injuries, dismissals and expulsions
- sparring and close collaboration with elected representatives
- advice during local pay negotiations and official conversations
- participation as a confidant at meetings, primarily via Teams
It is a requirement that you
- have many years of documented, practical experience with 24-hour shift patterns and payroll control in the public sector
- have handled concrete cases of errors in payslips, timesheet calculations, supplements and payments
- can read and apply collective agreements and working time agreements in concrete calculations and assessments
- can work independently on complex cases and document your conclusions
We also place emphasis on the fact that you
- have experience from a trade union, payroll or HR function, public employer or a similar role
- can convey complex rules clearly in both spoken and written form
- meet members in difficult situations with calm, respect and empathy
- work in a structured way, take responsibility for your own cases and contribute to the team's shared tasks
- have solid IT skills and experience with digital case handling
- thrive in a politically led organization and identify with the values of the labor movement
- are able to communicate in English and preferably also other languages and are able to understand choppy Danish in speech, etc.
As a colleague
You are curious, share your knowledge and want to continue developing professionally. We also value humor and an informal tone.
We offer
- a permanent position at 37 hours per week
- a full employer-paid pension scheme
- flexible working hours and the possibility of one day of home office per week after probation
- massage scheme, health scheme through Falck Healthcare after probation and free fruit, coffee and tea
- a workplace with high professionalism, good camaraderie and close collaboration
