About the job
Project Developer for regulatory work and planning of biogas plants
Do you want to help develop the biogas plants of the future and make a difference for the green transition?
We are seeking an engineer or colleague with another technical background who will take responsibility for planning and developing new projects within biogas production and CO₂ capture.
As part of Bigadan you will contribute to the development of biogas plants and technologies that convert organic by-products into green energy.
We collect and bio-treat organic residual products such as slurry and food waste into valuable biogenic products – including liquid biogenic CO₂ for storage underground and, of course, green gas to the gas grid. Products that benefit the rest of society. In short, we create circular cycles between city, countryside and industry with biogas technology.
About the job
Bigadan is in the process of expanding its biogas plants, and we therefore need a colleague who can drive planning, project development and regulatory handling in the projects.
Your primary tasks will be
- Preparation of project descriptions and applications for large and small projects
- Participate in project development and contribute knowledge to timelines and regulatory processes up to the construction phase
- Handle the dialogue with the project’s stakeholders, including authorities and advisors
- Contribute to obtaining relevant documentation prior to commissioning of projects
The workplace is located at the head office in Skanderborg, (and you will occasionally visit our biogas plants in Denmark). In addition, you have the option for remote working days.
Qualifications
We envision that you have a technical background – e.g. as an engineer – preferably with several years of experience in a similar position in either a private or public company, or as an authority at municipality, region or agency.
Biogas projects touch a wide range of authorities and laws. Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:
- Emergency Preparedness Act, technical regulations and the Gas Safety Act
- The Building Regulations
- The Environmental Protection Act, including environmental assessments and environmental permits
- Seveso Directive and high-risk activities
- The Planning Act, including local planning and municipal plan frameworks
We are a company with a down-to-earth approach to work. We have deep roots in the Jutland soil, a strong familial spirit and help each other across the organization with everyday challenges and tasks. We offer a tasty and varied lunch scheme and you will become part of our health package, which among other things includes health research. In addition we host social events outside working hours to strengthen the community and create relations across our workplaces.

About Bigadan
We develop, build, operate and own biogas plants and work across the entire value chain from sourcing organic residual products to the production of energy, biogenic CO₂ and biogas fertilizer. We operate 10 biogas plants, of which 3 have CO₂ capture plants, as well as a number of gas stations.
Every day we convert livestock manure, food waste and other organic by-products into products of value for the energy, agricultural and industrial sectors. This contributes to security of supply, ensures better resource use and recycles nutrients back to the soil.
