Apply for the position

Do you want to lead district heating projects and at the same time help develop the business – from customer dialogue and proposals to delivery and long-term relationships?

At Sweco Energy we support the phasing out of natural gas for heating and the transition through a wealth of exciting projects in the district heating field. In the East, among others through the implementation of district heating in Copenhagen, Dragør, Vallensbæk, Albertslund and several other North Zealand municipalities – and we also explore the potential for district heating in additional municipalities.

Overall, we have a broad portfolio of infrastructure projects, ranging from smaller densification tasks in existing district heating areas to larger construction projects that involve establishing new supply areas. You will become part of a strong professional environment with cross-disciplinary collaboration and close sparring in daily life – in a decentralized structure with responsibility and trust.

As a project manager at Sweco you will also have fast access to decisions and mandate. You work closely with the department management with ongoing sparring about the market, customers and pipeline – and you help translate market trends into priorities and concrete commercial actions.

About the position

As a project manager you will be responsible for leading project teams both internally within the department and across the business's disciplines. Your primary focus will be planning and leading whole projects or subprojects within larger interdisciplinary infrastructure projects, as well as coordinating and communicating with stakeholders and clients. In addition, you will handle commercial interests.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Daily management of the projects and project team, including co-responsibility for financial and contractual matters.
  • Ensure close project follow-up, including coordination of supervision and time management.
  • Create and maintain healthy collaborative environments on the project and in the project team.
  • Drive dialogue with clients and other stakeholders and ensure clear communication throughout the project process.
  • Handle commercial interests, including co-responsibility for market expansion, sales and stakeholder management.
  • Work closely with the department management on market insight, pipeline, priorities and strategy for the district heating area nationwide.

About the good match

You are a clear and trust-building leadership profile who thrives at the intersection of delivery and business. You can create structure and momentum – and you are also strong in relationships, dialogue and expectation alignment with customers and partners.

We imagine that you

  • Have solid experience managing construction/infrastructure projects in the district heating sector.
  • Have commercial understanding and a desire to work with sales, tenders and development of customer relationships.
  • Have experience with financial and contract management and can create overview and ensure follow-up.
  • Thrive in leading project teams and creating a good collaborative environment across disciplines.
  • Communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders and can lead processes that require both direction and collaboration.
  • Are keen to work closely with management on priorities, strategic choices and development of our position in the market.
  • It is not a requirement, but we would like you to have experience with tender processes, negotiations and framework agreements in the utilities sector.
