Project manager specializing in technical installations

In Rødovre Municipal Properties (RKE) we are looking for an experienced project manager with strong technical insight into building installations and technical systems.

We are not looking for just a project manager. We seek a professional capability who can contribute with experience, sparring and technical overview across the organization. A colleague who can challenge conventional thinking, contribute to the right decisions and ensure that our investments in buildings and technical systems create value for many years to come.

You will become part of the Project Group of 5 people, handling a wide portfolio of tasks across the municipality’s approx. 220,000 m². We work with everything from Work Environment Authority orders and regulatory requirements to planned maintenance, renovation projects, energy optimizations and development projects. At the same time we support the political decision-making process through the preparation of case summaries and decision briefs.

Your role

As a project manager you will be responsible for your own projects, but the role goes beyond traditional project management.

You must be a professional sparring partner for colleagues, management, operations and the construction organization. We expect you to actively contribute with technical assessments, analyses and recommendations when planning maintenance efforts, developing projects or prioritizing future investments.

You do not necessarily need to start a project at the idea phase and follow it through to completion. Instead, you must be able to step into a task at any time, create an overview, identify risks and ensure that the technical consequences are mapped out and managed.

You understand that projects are rarely isolated.

An extension, for example, can entail the need for

• Updating of principle diagrams
• Adjustment of CTS systems and control strategies
• Capacity assessment of ventilation, heating and cooling
• Adjustment of electrical installations
• Changes in ABA-, ADK- or alarm systems
• New operations and maintenance tasks
• Future investment needs in other parts of the building

These are the types of interconnections you must be able to see through and bring into play early in the decision-making process.

Your main tasks

• Project management of renovation, maintenance and installation projects.
• Planning and execution of projects within the construction disciplines.
• Handling of Work Environment Authority orders and other regulatory requirements.
• Management of consultants, contractors and technical suppliers.
• Contribute to development and qualification of upcoming infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate closely with the Construction Department on future investments.
• Preparation of decision briefs and political case descriptions.
• Contribute to prioritization of maintenance efforts across the municipality’s properties.
• Conduct technical analyses and assessments across the organization.
• Contribute with professional sparring and exchange of experiences in RKE.

Upcoming projects

You will among other things be involved in qualification and execution of upcoming infrastructure projects such as:

• Rødovre Construction Playground, roof replacement (2027-2030)
• Espelunden, renovation of changing buildings (2027-2028)
• Renovation of the Rehabilitation Center (2028)
• Closure of dental clinic rooms at the schools (2028)
• UC1610, renovation of facade and windows (2031)
• Pavilions for refugees (2028-2030)

Here you are expected to contribute with technical assessments and ensure that the solutions are thought through together with the existing building stock, operations and the municipality’s long-term strategies.

We imagine that you

• Have worked in the role of client, contractor or technical advisor.
• Have a relevant technical education such as a marine engineer, engineer, building designer or equivalent.
• Have experience with technical installations in buildings.
• Have worked with project management within construction, technical or real estate areas.
• Have a broad technical understanding and the ability to see connections across disciplines.
• Thrive in challenging and qualifying solutions.
• Want to share knowledge and experience with colleagues.
• Can translate technical issues into concrete decision bases.
• Work in a structured way and take responsibility to ensure tasks are delivered.
• Have good collaboration and communication skills.

Experience from a politically governed organization is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About Rødovre Municipal Properties

Rødovre Municipal Properties is responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of the municipality’s buildings. The Project Group acts as the client and carries out both strategic and urgent projects with a focus on quality, sustainability and long-term solutions.

We seek a colleague who can look beyond the single project, share their experience with the rest of the organization and contribute to ensuring that we make the right technical decisions across our property portfolio.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and after negotiation with the relevant organization. The position is full-time.
