About the job

Would you like to help establish a new national partnership for a greener health care system? Are you a strong, versatile profile who can drive tasks independently, build good collaborations and translate complex agendas into clear communication and concrete results?

The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND) at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a project assistant to establish National Partnership for Research and Innovation for a Greener Health Care System and for other strategic tasks in the faculty's Administrative Department.

The position offers a rare opportunity to help build a new national partnership from the ground up. You will work closely with leaders, researchers, health care actors, universities and business organizations and you will play a central role in creating relationships, engagement and progress in the partnership's first year.

Half of your time will be linked to the partnership. The remaining portion will be anchored more broadly in SUND's Administrative Department. Here you will be part of a varied portfolio of strategic and cross-cutting tasks, e.g., within sustainability, executive support and policy, depending on your competencies and experiences.

About the partnership and the position

Together with a wide range of partners, we are establishing the National Partnership for Research and Innovation for a Greener Health Care System. The partnership aims to mobilize, promote and coordinate development, implementation and scaling of concrete solutions that measurably reduce the health care system's negative impact on climate and the environment while increasing its resilience. Partners include all Danish universities and regions as well as the Danish Pharmaceutical Industry Association, Medico-industries and Danish Industry.

You will become part of the partnership's project group, which is the engine room of the establishment and will contribute to progress across the involved parties. The project group works, among other things, with project planning, producing drafts and other deliverables, coordinating meetings and workshops, collaborating with external consultants, communication and dialogue with stakeholders.

You will take a special role in the partnership's work on mobilization, advocacy and communication. You will work on building and maintaining relationships with foundations, companies, authorities, research environments and other key stakeholders. At the same time, you will help create visibility and engagement around the partnership's activities and ambitions. Your focus lies in and around the partnership's mobilization and communications track, which must ensure visibility, dialogue and collaboration with the many important actors in and around the partnership.

But the role is broader than communication. As an integrated part of the project group, you will also contribute to the development of the partnership's other deliverables and to planning and execution of activities and processes. We therefore seek a strong, versatile profile who can take responsibility for different types of tasks and move between communication, project support, advocacy and development tasks.

Your tasks

Your concrete tasks will develop in step with the partnership and the department's needs. You will, among other things, be responsible for:

  • contributing to planning and execution of the partnership's projects, processes, meetings and workshops.
  • contributing to the partnership's work with communication, mobilization and advocacy.
  • supporting dialogue and relationship-building with foundations, companies, authorities, research environments and other key stakeholders.
  • translating complex disciplinary and strategic content into clear messages, briefs and targeted communication.
  • drafting notes, presentations, meeting materials, news, social media and web content.
  • contributing to the development and production of the partnership's strategic and professional deliverables, including particularly a communication and advocacy strategy.
  • coordinating activities and collaborations across organizations and disciplines.
  • solving other project, development and policy tasks in SUND's Administrative Department.

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant higher education degree and roughly 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. You have built a strong generalist profile and are used to independently driving tasks within, for example, project support, communication, advocacy or development.

We place emphasis on that you

  • have strong written skills and can translate complex issues into clear and applicable products.
  • have experience in driving tasks and smaller processes independently from start to finish.
  • have good communication skills and an eye for different audiences, messages and formats.
  • have a flair for advocacy, relationship-building and collaboration with different types of stakeholders.
  • can quickly understand new and complex areas and identify what is needed to move a task forward.
  • can analyze and structure issues and translate them into concrete drafts, processes or activities.
  • work in a structured way and take responsibility, but also thrive on solving tasks together with others.
  • can navigate a daily life with different agendas, stakeholders and shifting tasks.

It is an advantage if you have experience from the health sector, the university world or the sustainability field. Experience from a politically led organization, public administration, an interest organization or other complex organizations can also be relevant.

You will be part of something that is to be built up

There is already broad backing for the partnership among regions, universities and industry, and both a steering group and a working group have been established.

In 2027, the ambitions should be translated into an actual organization with a binding partnership agreement, a strategy and a funding plan as well as the first 3-5 research and innovation programs.

You will therefore join at a time when the direction is set, but much remains to be developed. It gives you the opportunity to play a central role in translating the ambitions into concrete activities, collaborations and results.

We offer

You will become part of a strong and diverse team in the Administrative Department of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences with skilled and engaged colleagues. We offer an exciting and varied workday in a department with an informal tone, good humor and focus on the well-being of the individual and the department.

The appointment is full-time for 1 year and will be made as an assistant or possibly senior consultant under the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and academics in the state (AC agreement). There is potential for negotiation of a supplement based on qualifications. Start on January 1, 2027.
