Psychologist for the Forensic Psychiatric Inpatient Ward R7 in Viborg.

Would you like to use your psychology expertise in the treatment of people with severe mental illness under a legal measure? And do you want a daily work with complex treatment tasks, interdisciplinary collaboration and professional sparring? Then the position at R7 might be for you.

We are seeking a psychologist for a full-time position of 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

About us

The specialized forensic psychiatry in Viborg consists of three inpatient wards and a forensic psychiatry outpatient clinic. We treat people with severe mental illness, often in combination with substance misuse, who are subject to a legal measure.

You will be attached to R7 and work closely with the ward's management team and the interdisciplinary staff group, which includes doctors, nurses, social- and health care assistants, social worker, occupational therapist and secretary.

You will also collaborate with colleagues across the wards, including on risk assessments, which are an important task to perform at the three inpatient wards. There is formalized sparring and meeting activities with the other psychologists affiliated with AUH.

Your tasks

As a psychologist you contribute with your professional perspective to the patients' treatment and the shared clinical work. Your tasks include

• psychological assessments, testing and risk assessments
• clinical interviews/sessions, primarily based on a cognitive approach and in collaboration with the ward's chief physician
• participation in treatment and coordination meetings
• supervision of staff at the Regional Psychiatric Hospital Viborg.

About you

You are a trained psychologist and preferably have experience from psychiatry with assessment, testing and treatment.

• actively contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration and be open to others' perspectives
• can work independently and flexibly and seek sparring when there is a need
• have knowledge of cognitive therapy
• have experience with individual supervision and group supervision
• have knowledge of risk assessment tools such as START and BVC.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditioned on a satisfactory child and criminal record check and a satisfactory authorization.

The application deadline is October 30, 2026 and recruitment interviews are expected to be held on an ongoing basis.

The position is, as a rule, full-time.
