About the job

Ideal opportunity to combine psychiatric and somatic medical expertise with therapeutic programs and continuity.

There is currently a vacancy for a chief physician starting January 1 in our team for people with severe and long-standing eating disorders. The team has a highly specialized function and provides long, individually tailored treatment courses.

The patients connected to this team, in addition to their eating disorder, often have a wide range of psychiatric comorbidity and social problems, as well as somatic diseases or complications, which makes the medical role both exciting and diverse.

The position is also relevant for you who are a specialist but do not yet have experience as a chief physician.

Your tasks and areas of responsibility

You will be responsible for the initial intake assessment of patients into and out of the team and for, together with the team, planning the treatment taking into account the individual patient's overall problems. Many of the patients are followed over a longer period, which enables great continuity in your work.

You will also be responsible for planning and follow-up of psychopharmacological treatment, and, together with the team, for planning any diagnostic work-up of comorbidity.

There will also be opportunities for longer psychotherapeutic courses and for further training of your own therapeutic competencies, if this is of interest to you.

Some of our patients have double pathways in regional care, and a number are allocated support and housing in municipal care. Collaboration with these authorities will be a natural part of your tasks, just as you will also be an important support for the rest of the team at networking meetings, collaboration meetings, and in daily work.

You will also become part of one of the world's largest centers for eating disorders, anchored in a dynamic and development-oriented psychotherapeutic specialty outpatient clinic. It is expected that you, in collaboration with the department management and the other departments in the Center for Eating Disorders, will help develop the treatment and ensure good transitions to and from the other units in the eating disorders department (day ward and inpatient units), general psychiatry and to the primary sector.

The center also has a large and growing research department (CEDaR) led by the internationally renowned psychiatrist and researcher, Professor Nadia Micali, and many different exciting large and small research projects are conducted in collaboration with the clinic.

We expect you to contribute to implementing relevant research projects in the team, just as there will also be an opportunity for you to involve yourself in research.

About us

Psychotherapeutic Outpatient Clinic for Eating Disorders provides, overall, primary-, regional-, and highly specialized treatment for adults with eating disorders and also has the specialized intake assessment.

We are about 50 staff in total, spread across 3 treatment teams, a secretariat, and a unit management consisting of a chief physician and two head psychologists.

In the team you will work with 1-2 specialists, psychologists, nurses, dietitians and social workers, as well as typically one younger physician in training.

You will also become part of a strong medical community across the entire outpatient clinic and the other three eating-disorder units (one day ward and two inpatient units), where we meet regularly for intake assessments and teaching.

Professional opportunities with us

We focus on professionalism, professional development and a good collegial work environment. Employees provide and receive teaching and supervision.

There will be opportunities for competency development within eating disorders through courses and supervision, as well as the possibility to apply for support for psychotherapeutic specialist training.

We are thus a team that continuously aims to improve our tasks and work with ongoing development. Currently we especially focus on the initial course in terms of involving all relevant professional groups and planning the treatment as closely as possible to the patient's needs. In addition, we continually focus on competency development regarding both the eating disorder itself and psychiatric comorbidity.

Qualifications

The position is intended to be filled with a chief physician in psychiatry. Broad clinical experience is an advantage. Experience with treatment of eating disorders and psychotherapeutic training is desirable but not required.

We expect you to thrive with challenges, be autonomous, structured, flexible, development-oriented and have good collaboration skills.

Ambulatory currently open Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00. Your working hours will primarily fall within this timeframe.

The region is a 24/7 area, and you will, as needed, be scheduled for shifts outside the ambulatory's opening hours in accordance with the working time regulations in the contract.
