Psychologist for the Forensic Psychiatric Inpatient Ward R7 in Viborg.

Do you want to use your psychology expertise in the treatment of people with severe mental illness and a judicial measure? And do you want a daily work with complex treatment tasks, multidisciplinary collaboration and professional sparring? Then the position at R7 might be something for you.

We are seeking a psychologist for a full-time position of 37 hours per week with start on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

About us

The specialized forensic psychiatry in Viborg consists of three inpatient wards and an outpatient forensic psychiatry clinic. We treat people with severe mental illness, often in combination with substance use problems, who have a judicial measure.

You will be attached to R7 and work closely with the ward's management team and the multidisciplinary staff, consisting of doctors, nurses, social and health care assistants, social worker, occupational therapist and secretary.

You will also collaborate with colleagues across the wards, among other things on risk assessments, which is an important task to perform in the three inpatient wards. There is formalized sparring and meeting activities with the other psychologists attached to AUH.

Your tasks

As a psychologist you contribute your professional perspective to the patients' treatment and the shared clinical work. Your tasks include

• psychological assessments, testing and risk assessments
• clinical therapeutic conversations, primarily based on a cognitive approach and in collaboration with the ward's chief physician
• participation in treatment and coordination meetings
• supervision of staff at Regionspsykiatrien Viborg.

About you

You are a trained psychologist and preferably have experience from psychiatry with assessment, testing and treatment.

• work professionally reflective and can maintain an overview in complex situations
• actively contribute to the multidisciplinary collaboration and are open to others' perspectives
• can work independently and flexibly and seek sparring when needed
• have knowledge of cognitive therapy
• have experience with individual supervision and group supervision
• have knowledge of risk assessment tools such as START and BVC.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is contingent on a satisfactory child and criminal record check and a satisfactory authorization.

The application deadline is 30 October 2026 and interviews are expected to be held on an ongoing basis.

The position is, in principle, a full-time position.
