About the job
Qualified pedagogue sought for §107 group home at Suhrsvej 28B in Korsør
Relation is your most important working tool
At Suhrsvej 28B we are looking for a trained pedagogue who wants to work closely with people and be part of a daily life where relation, professionalism and human presence go hand in hand.
With us, we work with young adults who need more than structure and practical support. They need adults around them who stay, even when it gets difficult, and who can see the person behind the behavior.
We are therefore looking for a colleague who can build relationships, keep calm in complex situations and at the same time be curious about what lies behind what we see.
About the residential facility
Suhrsvej 28B is a private social-pedagogical §107-residence for young people and adults from 18 years old. Our residents have various psychological, social and developmental challenges. These can include attention and development disorders, anxiety, stress, depression and difficulties with attachment. Some have or have had a history of substance use.
What is common is that the residents need stable relationships, clear frameworks and individual support to create a more coherent daily life and to develop as much independence as possible.
Your everyday life with us
As a pedagogue you will be an important part of the residents’ daily lives. Some days the work is about structure, routines, finances, employment or practical ADL tasks. Other days it is about a car ride, training, a cup of coffee and a conversation that suddenly opens up something important.
There are also days when a resident can be particularly challenged, when a appointment falls through, or when the situation develops differently than planned. Therefore you must be able to work in a structured way without being rigid.
Your tasks will include, among others, to
- Build and maintain stable and trusting relationships
- Support residents in structure, employment, education, finances, daily rhythm and ADL
- Work with motivation, development and the residents’ own goals
- Support participation in social activities and communities
- Handle conflicts and acute situations calmly and professionally
- Document the pedagogical efforts and follow up on intervention goals
- Collaborate with relatives and relevant external partners
- Contribute actively to professional reflection and sparring within the staff group
Our professional foundation
Our pedagogical work draws on a cognitive approach, motivational interviewing (MI), Low Arousal and social skills training as well as narrative perspectives. The methods are important, but the relationship comes first.
Experience with group homes, dual diagnoses or substance use issues is an advantage. We also place emphasis on professional curiosity, reflection and the desire to continue developing one’s practice.
We are looking for you who are a trained pedagogue
It is a requirement for the position that you are a trained pedagogue. We are looking for a colleague who can translate their pedagogical expertise into practice and join in close professional collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
- Can be present without losing your professionalism
- Can set clear and professional boundaries without losing the relationship
- Can keep calm when a resident cannot
- Are curious about the reason behind a behavior rather than just reacting to it
- Can work independently and know when you need to involve colleagues
- Communicate clearly, concretely and de-escalate conflicts
- Can reflect on your own practice and contribute with both successes and dilemmas in the professional community
- Have a desire to work with people where development does not necessarily occur on a straight line
What we offer
You will become part of a workplace with high professional standards, short decision paths and the opportunity to influence the pedagogical practice. We offer an engaged collegial community with room for professional sparring, reflection and different perspectives.
You will have responsibility and autonomy in the work, but you will not be alone with the task. We continuously prioritize competency development and a culture where we are curious about our own practice: What works? What doesn’t? And what can we do differently?
