Rarely advertised educator position in a fantastic children's house in Roskilde

It's not every day that we post an educator position. In fact, we haven't had an available educator position for 2 years. Now the opportunity is here – and perhaps you will be our new colleague at Børnehuset Frejas Have.

We are looking for a trained educator who wants to become part of a fantastic kindergarten house with a strong sense of community, high professional standards, low absence, and a focus on ensuring both children and adults have the opportunity to succeed.

The position is newly created and generally for the house. At present, your primary attachment will be to our middle group, where the children are between 2 and 4 years old.

A kindergarten house with city, nature and rural idyll

Børnehuset Frejas Have is located in Roskilde's charming district Himmelev, close to schools and with good opportunities to actively use the local area.

We are a medium-sized institution with three departments and currently we have 90 wonderful children and a strong parent collaboration. We have three playgrounds, which provide the framework for lots of play, movement and immersion. At the same time we are surrounded by rural idyll and nature, which we actively use in our daily life.

With us there is both room to think big, space for play and the opportunity to find calm and deep engagement.

Children do well when they can....

This is an important premise for our pedagogical work.

When a child is having a hard time, we focus on looking at what we as adults and the pedagogical environment can do to help the child succeed.

We believe that it is our responsibility to adapt the environments around the children so that they have the best opportunities for wellbeing, development, learning and participation in the community.

Therefore we work structurally with clear frameworks. Every day we organize ourselves into smaller groups of children, because it provides good opportunities for presence, immersion, relationships and starting from the individual child group.

Special pedagogical elements in everyday practice

Børnehuset Frejas Have is a kindergarten house with three children enrolled in Vækstplads, and this is an important part of our professional profile.

We work every day to integrate special pedagogical elements into the ordinary pedagogical practice. This means that we have a particular focus on how we can create opportunities for participation for all children and adapt our pedagogical environments so that more children can succeed in the community.

We are curious about what lies behind the child's actions, and we work to adjust the framework, structure, relationships and pedagogical approaches when a child needs something different.

We have a permanently attached special pedagogical advisor in the house who provides sparring and guidance to the staff about the challenges and dilemmas that can arise in everyday pedagogy. This means that as a pedagogue you are not alone with the complex situations, but have access to professional sparring close to practice.

The growth places and the special pedagogical perspective are thus not something that sits alongside our other pedagogical practice – they qualify it.

In the middle group you will currently spend your days with children from 2-4 years. Here we work, among other things, with relationships, play, language, independence and the children's participation in the community.

Even though you will currently be attached to the middle group, we are looking for a colleague who wants to be part of the entire Frejas Have.

We help each other across, share our professional knowledge and stand together on the complex tasks in daily life. For us it is important that we can both be focused on our own group of children and at the same time have an eye for the whole house.

The position is 30-37 hours per week, which will be agreed closer depending on your wishes.
