Lysholt specialskole is part of Lysholt, which is a municipal day care facility that moved into newly built premises 3 years ago. We accommodate 45 infants and 80 preschool children. In addition, we have 20 designated children aged 0-6. The children have various profound disabilities and several within the autism spectrum.

Lysholt special school is for the designated schoolchildren. The special school at Lysholt is a strongly specialized school for pupils who need to be in a smaller, calm, shielded and predictable learning environment with calm adults very close by. Adults who can read even small signals and build relationships with pupils with very different needs. The school offering has 17, soon 18 pupils currently distributed from 0th to 6th grade. These pupils are divided into 3 homerooms and the level of instruction covers a wide span. Some pupils are taught at early years/primary level.

We are seeking a colleague for our Class I, where the pupils need physical guidance 1-1 for most activities, there will be more care tasks and a special focus on alternative and augmentative communication. You will become part of our school/after-school care (SFO) team. A team consisting of educators, teaching assistants, an occupational therapist and teachers.

• have special educational experience and knowledge regarding work with pupils with disabilities, preferably from the school sector.
• thrive in working in a multidisciplinary special education environment, where the day is predictable and structured based on both the group’s and the individual pupil's needs.
• set a high standard for relationships and pupils' learning. Ideally experience with “Alle i mål”
• have good abilities to observe and describe, and set goals and follow up on them.
• can support the individual pupil's life skills, so the pupil achieves the greatest possible influence over their own life.
• are academically strong both in communication and writing.
• value close collaboration with colleagues and parents highly.
• are curious about new theories and knowledge in the field of special schools.
• are clear, have an overview and can take responsibility.
• have a calm nervous system.
• are personally robust and reflective about one’s own practice.
• are independent, flexible and proactive.
