About us

Børnehuset Arken is located in Jyllinge and consists of two nurseries groups and three kindergarten groups. In the kindergarten you will become part of a team of 9-10 colleagues who together create safe, playful and developmental learning environments for the children.

We are within walking distance of many of Jyllinge's fantastic natural areas and actively use the local environment. Here children can explore, use their bodies and senses and experience nature's changes throughout the year.

At Arken we are committed to ensuring that all children feel themselves to be valuable participants in the community. This requires present adults who are curious about the children's perspectives, follow their initiatives and help them find their way into play and relationships. We create room for both big gestures, immersion and quiet moments.

Professionally, we work among other things with our participation in All Children's Daycare , with action learning as a method to explore and develop our practice and with play atmospheres. We are a children's house in development – and we love it.

High professional competence and pedagogical quality are crucial to succeed with the political ambition of creating strong communities for all children and young people, and this requires time and room for immersion, reflection and collaboration for the pedagogical staff. In Roskilde Municipality it is politically prioritized that all houses are allocated preparation time.

The preparation time should enable staff to work more systematically with the core task while creating better conditions for professional development, well-being, job satisfaction and strong communities – without compromising children’s time and staffing levels.
