About the job

A special task for you, who wants to work with the young. Do you want to make a real difference for a young person who needs us to do things a little differently?

Can you create relationships, calm and development – even when it gets difficult? And can you see competencies in the young person, even when they aren’t always easy to spot? Then maybe you’re the one we’re looking for.

About the job and the tasks

The Youth Unit is seeking a teacher-trained 1-to-1 tutor with strong instructional and pedagogical competencies for a special initiative in STØBERIET.

We are talking about a permanent position with a start date of 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.

The Youth Unit’s overarching goal is to help young people progress into employment or education. The work with the young people in STØBERIET is part of this effort. STØBERIET offers a special, flexible and holistic approach for young people of compulsory school age who need something other than and more than what the ordinary framework can offer. This can include young people with school refusal and young people with pronounced cognitive challenges, who in some situations can be outwardly acting out.

You will of course teach, but you must also help create the framework that makes teaching possible. You come close to the young person and have the opportunity to follow development – including the small steps that can be big victories.

As a 1-to-1 tutor your task is to meet the young person where he or she is – academically, socially and personally. You must help create a daily life in which the young person experiences being met, understood and taken seriously, while maintaining a focus on learning, development and progression.

It requires professionalism and structure. But it also requires patience, creativity and the ability to think: “If this doesn’t work, what can we try instead?”

For some young people the way forward may be small steps. For others it may be a big goal to be in class all day. Your task will be to help find the path that makes sense for the individual young person.

You don’t need to be able to solve everything, but you should be willing to try – and try again when the first attempt doesn’t work. For some young people the road to development is not straight. But we believe there is a path.

Maybe you are the one who will help find it.

STØBERIET follows the ordinary provisions in the Danish Public School Act regarding the scope and content of teaching. At the same time we know that young people are different, and therefore they also need different frameworks. Individual considerations are taken, and daily life is planned based on the individual young person’s prerequisites and needs. This means, among other things, that there may be a need for breaks, changes in the day’s structure or other adjustments.

STØBERIET is a school where students are taught by trained teachers and pedagogues. But the intervention does not stop at teaching.

STØBERIET’s content quality is assessed continually, and the offering is supervised by a certified supervising official.

Our expectations for you

We are seeking a colleague who is teacher-trained and who is passionate about working with young people. We imagine that you:

  • Have experience within the youth sector – possibly also the special education sector.
  • Have strong instructional competencies.
  • Can work purposefully within STØBERIET’s framework and visions.
  • Can adapt teaching and your approach to the individual young person.
  • Can speak to the young person at eye level and meet them where they are.
  • Can think creatively and come up with ideas for teaching and activities.
  • Are keen to contribute with ideas, sparring and professional input together with the rest of the team.
  • Have strong collaboration skills for both internal and external partners.

As a person you must above all want the young people – even when it requires something extra. You are flexible, empathetic and inclusive. You can stay calm when the situation becomes difficult, and you understand the young people’s frustrations without taking their reactions personally. You can create a safe relationship, but also be clear and set a professional framework. You can collaborate with different professional backgrounds and actively contribute to the collegial community.

At the same time you can work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks. And you want to develop yourself – both professionally and personally.

We are looking for you who can see the person behind the behavior and hold on to the belief that development is possible.

You must also have a driving license.

Why choose us

With us you do not have a workday where two days necessarily look alike. You will have exciting and challenging tasks that give you broad experience with the target group.

You can also expect

  • Close professional and collegial sparring.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge across competence groups.
  • Close collaboration with the municipality’s other areas of effort.
  • A daily life with pace and many balls in the air.
  • Great independence in planning your tasks.
  • Committed colleagues who help each other.
  • A workplace where we value humor highly.
  • A personnel policy with the keywords: Responsibility, Dialogue, Development.
  • A clear mission: We FIND TOGETHER a path for all – a path to work communities, a path to life mastery and a path to growth for businesses.

We work from the concept of social inclusion . We believe that everyone can – and wants to be – a part of the labor market if the right opportunities are in place.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment according to the applicable collective agreement, with the possibility to negotiate qualification and function pay.
