About the job

We have two lovely 5th-grade classes whose mathematics teacher will be on maternity leave for the rest of the school year.

We therefore need you in a permanent position, whether your preference is early years/lower primary or middle/upper primary, if you want to help our students succeed in mathematics.

In Frederiksberg in Sorø, the vast majority of the district's families want their children to attend the local school – and we are proud of that. We work purposefully with diverse learning environments in close interdisciplinary collaboration, and now we are looking for a new teacher who wants to help further develop this work.

You will become part of a close professional collaboration where we try to find the good balance between all that already works and the upcoming implementation of both new curricula and technology understanding while respecting the subject itself.

In the current timetable there is also quite a bit of physical education and some cultural subjects. It would make our “life” easier if you can cover some of that, but whatever the case, we will find good solutions.

When we ask teachers why they should apply with us, two answers recur: “We have so many nice, considerate and ready-to-learn students” and “it is of utmost importance to have good colleagues where you can also share a common focus on your subjects.”

We genuinely experience that we have a very exciting job with contagious collective collegial engagement.

We don’t know you yet, but we imagine, regardless of the target group, that you

  • are genuinely focused on students learning mathematics
  • understand the value of being co-creators of a good everyday life
  • are reflective about your subject
  • naturally create healthy and trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • can be the calm, clear and secure anchor that both prevents and engages
  • are proactive and can work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues

As a school we are committed to learning on the foundation of both mono- and cross-disciplinary work. We daily see that when we have the opportunity to improve in our subject areas, we are also much more open to what we can do across subjects.

We do not stockpile “world champions,” but we hope you will challenge us on what difference you want to make in the work of strengthening students and communities.

We place emphasis on you

  • thriving in collaboration with many disciplines
  • being professionally curious and reflective about practice
  • being able to listen, share knowledge and work with mentalization
  • having the ability to focus on both the individual student and the community
