Re-employment on a full-time basis of retired or separated police officers and foremen

Have you previously worked as a prison officer or turnkey in Denmark's Prisons and wish to be reemployed full-time?

The process for full-time reemployment looks as follows

• Complete application

You must fill out an application form. In the application you must upload a photo of yourself, your educational certificate, consent form and CV. Consent form

• We assess your application

We assess your application to determine whether you still meet the requirements of the Civil Servants Act sections 4 and 10. In addition, we will obtain references from your previous employment in Denmark's Prisons.

• Possible physical test

If you are deemed suitable to proceed in the process, we will assess whether you should take a physical test. Whether you should take a physical test depends, among other things, on your other health conditions, how long you have been out of service as either a turnkey/work supervisor or prison officer, as well as the position you are applying for.

• Clarifying interview and assessment of the need for upskilling education

The final part of the process is a clarifying interview, where we discuss your motivation for applying to return. We also look at whether there is a need for upskilling education.

• Notification of reemployment

If you are assessed as suitable for full-time reemployment as a civil servant, a decision will be made on whether you should have a new probationary period. The final competence for reemployment lies with Prison Circle East and Prison Circle West. Your application will therefore be forwarded to the circle where you are applying for reemployment.

Full-time you will be employed as a civil servant and the terms of employment will correspond to other prison officers. You can read more here.
