About the job

Are you already passionate about psychiatry, or would you like to learn more about the specialty? Then come to Slagelse and become part of a community where high (interdisciplinary) professionalism, sparring, education, and collegiality come first.

There is a short distance to Slagelse – by our bus.

To take care of the treatment of our patients in the Psychiatric Emergency Department and ward, we are seeking more resident doctors for unclassified positions as of December 1, 2026 or by agreement. The appointment is for 1 year.

Our bus transports doctors daily to and from DGI City and Valby, with working time included in the bus.

You will receive a thorough introduction so you are well prepared to start work in Psychiatry West.

The daily work will mainly consist of independent ward rounds and on-call duties, both supervised by senior doctors.

There is a on-site guard attached to the positions. The shifts are two-shift. From September 1 there will be at least two doctors on duty around the clock.

The on-call standby is permanently present at the hospital on weekdays from 15:00 to 18:00.

In the daily clinical routine there is theoretical teaching and clinics every week.

The Psychiatric Hospital houses the Psychiatric Emergency Department (PAM) with 18 beds, of which 8 are highly shielded, and a number of integrated ward units with 14-17 beds, of which two are shielded. The integrated wards operate in pairs and are geographically targeted to admit patients from specific municipalities in the catchment area. There is also an elderly psychiatric ward.

There is an adult psychiatry department attached to six district psychiatric centers.

The Psychiatric Hospital is located close to the somatic hospital, with whom we collaborate clinically, in research and teaching.

Conversations are held continuously.

The position falls under the collective agreement: Young doctors, if you want to see the starting salary. In connection with employment in Psychiatry, a reference is requested.

If you would like further information about the position, please contact the Education Responsible Chief Physician Taus Biba.
