About the job
October 2026
ROCKWOOL Fonden seeks methodologically strong economist with an interest in research on migration, mental health and education
Do you want to help create new knowledge about how newly arrived children and youths who have fled war thrive in Denmark? And about how reception conditions in Denmark affect their mental health and educational outcomes? Do you also want to work in an established research environment at ROCKWOOL Fonden? Then the following position as a research assistant, available for occupancy as soon as possible, might be for you.
ROCKWOOL Fonden works impartially and scientifically to deliver research that contributes to strengthening the welfare state's social and economic sustainability. The Foundation's group for research in welfare areas consists of about 60 staff members, distributed almost equally between researchers, research assistants and PhD students, and student assistants.
I am seeking an independent, capable and engaged candidate for a research assistant position at ROCKWOOL Fonden. You are for example educated cand.polit. or master's from a program with a similar focus. You wish to work with research with the aim of either further developing methodological expertise or possibly to pursue a PhD.
I expect that you can take independent responsibility for a small research project (for example approximately the size of a thesis), work thoroughly and in-depth, and that you wish to acquire stronger methodological and social science skills under supervision and training from experienced researchers.
You have
- Experience with descriptive and econometric analyses on register data.
- Interest in also working with survey data.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, R or Python).
- A desire to develop an even stronger knowledge of methods.
- Joy in working both independently and in teams.
- Interest in topics related to migration.
We offer
- A development position in a research institution with a focus on quality, independence and thoroughness.
- 2-year position with the possibility of extension.
- Opportunity to contribute to societally relevant research while developing your professional skills.
- Opportunity to join a strong professional and social group of research assistants.
- An inspiring workplace located in the center of Copenhagen.
Submit your application, transcript and CV via this link no later than 31 October 2026.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Senior Researcher Camilla Hvidtfeldt at telephone
